A cloth so warm and made of wool was draped around her shoulder as she gazed out to admire the snow.

It reminded her so much of Hale. She remembered him saying it was his favorite season of the year.

Ebony turned to the woman that birthed such a sweet half-demon. They stood shoulder to shoulder on the balcony of the room given to Hale's mom, and she returned the friendly smile the queen gave her.

"How are you feeling now? Better?"

Ebony nodded. What she told her was that she passed out for more than twenty-four hours and due to her immortal gifts, she was healed and her energy was fully restored. Ebony indeed felt revitalize and full of life once more though not pleased with everything going on in her life. But she felt like a dying device that was connected to a charger and charged up, ready to be useful again.

"That's good. You really are a strong woman. My son was right about you."
