Chapter 100

Gabe felt annoyed hearing that, "What do you mean by that? This isn't just Henry's problem, right? It's all of ours, isn't it? Why are you all so comfortable letting Henry carry the burden alone?"

Grace whispered, "Well, isn't he capable enough?"

Gabe retorted, "How capable is he, really? Can he solve the food problem for ten people for two months?"

Everyone was already irritated. Grace, speaking with emotion, said, "If he can't solve it, why did he boast about it? No one forced him to say it; he said we didn't need to worry."

For the first time, Gabe felt these people were really heartless.

They had been working together for a long time, and Henry had taken on most of the responsibilities, both big and small, without asking them to shoulder the pressure. But now, this was their attitude.

Gabe was about to speak again when he heard someone outside call his name loudly.

He looked up to see Henry standing outside the door.

After calling his name, Henry turned and left with a stern face.

Gabe swallowed his words. Sophia quickly got up from the table and chased after Henry.

The kitchen fell silent.

The remaining seven people didn't say another word.

Their argument in the kitchen was loud enough that Summer and Logan, who were in the nearby dorms, heard the gist of it.

After the kitchen quieted down, Logan suddenly let out a cold laugh.

He wasn't alone in the dorm; Charlie was there too.

Charlie heard the laugh and couldn't help but ask, "What's so funny?"

Logan, without looking at Charlie, responded, "What do you think?"

Charlie took a deep breath and then let out a cold laugh of his own, "Laugh all you want. People like you, who are cold-blooded and inhumane, what kind of future do you think you'll have?"

Logan replied, "Worry about yourself. Whether you have a future or not is still uncertain."

Charlie didn't say another word, clenching his teeth and fists before storming out.

In the kitchen, though no one was arguing anymore, they couldn't calmly discuss the issue either. After sitting in silence for a while, they all returned to their dorms.

Lily, Grace, and Cecilia sat silently in their dorm.

Summer lay on her bed with her eyes closed, pretending to be asleep.

Lily, Grace, and Cecilia were breathing heavily, their breaths coming in heavier.

Cecilia, unable to hold back, said, "If Henry can't solve this problem, what are we going to do? Are we really going to starve here?"

Lily and Grace remained silent, not immediately responding.

Then Lily suddenly said, "If we really can't solve it, maybe we should split up. The more I think about it, the more I believe that our current situation is because of this partnership."

Grace looked at Lily.

After thinking for a moment, she said, "When you put it that way, it makes sense. On the surface, it seems beneficial to be in a group. No matter what happens, Henry is always there to handle it for us. But in reality, we've never faced any major issues. Now that we have a big problem, he can't handle it. This shows he wants to give up. We've followed his lead in everything, and now, we're in this mess because of him. I used to be afraid of offending him and getting ostracized, but now I don't care. Things can't get any worse."

Lily continued, "I think it's unfair. I've been holding it in, afraid of being called petty or getting ostracized. But I can't hold it in anymore. Let's talk about the food first. We share food, but the guys eat almost twice as much as we do. Although they earn more work points, it's still unfair to us. And about the work points, Gabe mentioned that our points for the past six months are not enough. If we split up, I'm not willing to share the burden. Sophia hardly earned any points, why should we cover for her?"

Grace, thinking over Lily's words, felt increasingly frustrated. Clenching her fingers, she said, "We never should have partnered up!"

Thinking back to the beginning, Cecilia added, "Summer and Logan were smart to stay out of it."

But Grace and Lily didn't like hearing that.

Grace, with emotion, said, "Let's not talk about them now, okay?"

She glanced at Summer, who was pretending to sleep, and lowered her voice, "They're probably laughing at us... they're not good people either..."

Cecilia fell silent at Grace's outburst.

After a moment, seeing that Lily and Grace were no longer speaking, she asked, "What should we do now? Should we propose splitting up?"

Lily said, "Let's wait and see. Maybe they'll solve it."

Cecilia nodded and said nothing more.

Summer lay on her bed, not sleeping, but not moving either.

Feeling a lot of frustration, she overheard Lily and Grace continuing their complaints about many things that had annoyed them during their partnership.

Living with so many people, conflicts were inevitable.

At first, they mentioned everyone, but soon, their complaints focused on Sophia.

In the end, Sophia had benefited the most while contributing the least.

Summer heard them finish washing up and get into bed.

They talked for a while longer before Summer finally fell asleep.

In the boys' dorm, a similar scene was unfolding.

Henry, Gabe, and Charlie were absent, and the remaining three boys complained about everyone else, feeling Henry, Charlie, and Gabe were not as reliable as they seemed. They felt partnering with the girls was a bad idea, as the girls did less work but had more problems and complaints, always pushing the boys to the front.

Logan didn't bother listening to their complaints.

To him, they were all useless, regardless of who was slightly less so.

The funny thing was, when it came to ostracizing him and Summer, they were united. But now, facing real problems, they fell apart, blaming each other and shirking responsibilities.

Ten people who claimed to be loyal and righteous were now more petty and calculating than him, someone they considered selfish and cold-hearted.

Henry, Charlie, and Gabe didn't return until late.

The three remaining boys eventually went to sleep after venting.

Logan stayed awake.

When Henry returned, Logan stopped him outside the dorm and said, "Remember when you said you'd rather beg than ask me, Logan, for help?"

Bringing this up in their current situation was undoubtedly a huge insult to Henry.

Logan seemed to pick this moment deliberately to provoke Henry.

Henry stopped and looked at Logan, his voice cold, "Rest assured, even if you offer, I won't take it!"

Logan wasn't just provoking Henry. He continued, "And I said I'd take care of Summer. I meant it, so you better not give her any trouble."

Henry, not backing down, replied, "I also said her matters are none of your concern!"

Logan responded, "Really? What about you and Sophia pretending to be a couple to get supplies from the public health center? Does that concern me?"
