Chapter 30: Xenia

Sighing, I looked at that letter, and then to the flickering lustre beside me, perhaps, I should read it once more before burning it. This time, I will not sympathize and surely burn it.

The rustling sound of paper brushing together echoed in my empty room as I slowly opened the letter, making sure that the dry petals of pink french rose didn't drift away from the cold whiff. My eyes wandered over the beautifully carved words over the yellowish-white paper, as I slowly touched the blue dry ink, at least his handwriting is decent.

I tried to stop my lips from slightly tugging up, but couldn't help as a smile came to my face when I read the first word, " Mine own heartily beloved betroth Xenia, I confess me unto ye, with all the inwardness of my heart.

And now before you tear this letter apart, the only thing which could carry my love to you, I beseech to read it, just for once.

After that, you could burn it to the ashes with my heart inside it,
