Spaced Buns

THE living room floor-length curtain was opened, and Maurene, who'd seen the two fast asleep on the large sofa, was quick to hurry her way out, slowly closing the door and leaving them to themselves.

Not a long few minutes after, Stella, in the man's arms, stretched and yawned contentedly, having slept well. She blinked her eyes open and turned her face, only to come face-to-face with Valeric, who had only just opened his eyes.

They stared at each other, unmoving, and she felt herself gulp so loudly that she was sure he heard it. If she moved first, wouldn't it make it awkward? Lord, he's the nonchalant one, he should move first. What is he waiting for?

Valeric's eyes fell to her nose, and she followed along until it stopped right on her light reddish lips, which were slightly parted as if she had something to say. She blinked and twitched at the sound of a sudden pound in her chest.

Huh?

What was going on?
