"Wife." Valeric brought their foreheads together and all she could see and smell was him. A whimper fell from her and she latched onto the feel of him like it was a lifetime as her racing thoughts calmed.
"You're scaring me, Stella, and that's sort of not reassuring. I'm usually most people's nightmare."
A laugh bubbled free from her and she didn't stop even when it turned into a full-on giggle.
Valeric cocked a brow as he pulled back a little. "You don't think I'm frightening?" He asked.
She laughed again, shrugging. "You were to me, not anymore. But to others, you are."
It wasn't very visible, but a smile had twitched on his lips and he grabbed her by the armpit, lifting her from the bed to carry her.
"What are you doing?"
"Comforting you? Or am I doing it wrong?"
"Well… You're making me feel like a little child," she mumbled, wrapping her arms around his neck and her legs circling his waist.
"Are you hungry?"
