chapter sixty four

Alina finally got to chill once school was over and she was back home, especially with Lizzy around. Her friend made everything better.

When Lizzy woke up, she'd totally blanked on what happened. She couldn't remember a thing after the bracelet came off—not the spider, not the bracelet going up in flames, nada.

Marcus still suspected it was the work of vampires, but Alina was relieved that Lizzy had forgotten that part of her memory. She couldn't bear lying to Lizzy anymore and was happy to see her friend back to normal.

Sitting on Alina's bed, the two girls were chatting away. Alina was animatedly recounting how Marcus had asked her to be his girlfriend and the magical moment of their first kiss.

Suddenly, the doorbell rang, interrupting their conversation.

"Who might that be?" Alina wondered aloud.

"Maybe it's your dad; he probably forgot something," Lizzy suggested.
