Sleeping habits

"Change into these," now standing beside her, Elias stretched out a pair of shorts and a polo to her.

"Geez," flinching, she said, not expecting to see him beside her. This was the second time he was doing it, how did he manage to teleport?

Retrieving the clothes, she thanked him and walked into his closet to change. It had been over thirty minutes since she went to change and she stood by the closet, unwilling to leave there.

She knew the moment she entered the bedroom, he would initiate intimacy and she didn't want to have anything to do with him. Frantically, she started looking for excuses to give that would successfully work with no errors.

Just what could she say to avoid tonight's intimacy until tomorrow morning? Should she say she had HIV? No, that might ruin her reputation and make people think that was what killed her husband. He would be dead by tomorrow morning anyway, he wouldn't live to tell the story.

It was settled, she would tell him she had HIV and the foolish king would believe her.

"Do you want to sleep there tonight?" Just in time, Elias asked, reading through the newspaper in his hand.

"Coming!!" She yelled and took a deep breath before walking out of the closet.

Unfortunately, she got distracted by her husband's serene look which made her heart melt. Seeing him sit on the couch wearing pajamas, with his leg hanging over another, while he read the newspaper with glasses made him look tempting.

She imagined him hovering over her while he pestered her with kisses. He looked manly in the pajamas and she unknowingly dragged her gaze across his chest.

"There is food if you are hungry," he insulted, causing her to snap back to her normal self.

Coughing, she started, "So I have something…" Cutting her off, he stood up, folded the paper, and relayed, "I am not sleeping on the couch, you can sleep in the bed with me or sleep on the couch. Switch off the lights when you are ready to sleep," and dropped the newspaper on the desk.

"Wait, what? Just like that," unexpectedly, he wasn't planning to touch her and it made her feel disappointed for an odd reason. Could it be because she wasted time searching for an excuse, or because a part of her wanted him?

Embarrassed about it, she pouted her lips and went to switch off the lights like he said. Walking up to the bed, she slept on the other side and used the second duvet to cover herself.

They weren't even sharing a duvet, which means he was never planning to sleep with her and probably made her sleep in his room tonight because of the people.

A very good plan, if only he told her earlier instead of making her worry.

It was such a shame that he wouldn't be alive by tomorrow morning, they never made it. At midnight, once she confirmed that he was dead, she would make her move for the crown and escape.

The security in the mansion would be less tight, and it would grant her the pass she needed out of the king's quarters. She could easily sneak out of anywhere once she was out of his.

"I must not fall asleep," forcing herself to stay awake, she repeatedly chanted, slapping her face at intervals.

"I…mu…" Before she knew it, she fell asleep.

The following morning, Elias was already awake with a clingy Tessa tightly gripping his body. He was unable to sleep throughout the night, because of Tessa's sleeping habit. She would throw her legs and hands everywhere, waking him up in the process.

It got to the point that he had to stand up when he couldn't take it anymore, but he wasn't used to sleeping anywhere except in the bed and had to endure the torture. Now, her hand was holding his waist and no matter how he tried to remove it, she was not releasing him.

Sighing, he inconveniently laid staring at the ceiling, in hopes of her waking up soon. Who knew such a blunt-mouthed type had a bad sleeping habit? One would think she was great in everything until they got to know her.

"My red ruby crown!" Suddenly, she murmured and pinched Elias which irked him. Why the hell was she pinching him?

"Hey!" Elias called, moving his eyes to check if she was still sound asleep.

"No, you bad wolf!" She muttered again, but this time around, she sounded hurt. Thinking of when he bit her, he felt bad and didn't move again. This was all he could do to repay her for biting her, he wasn't going to tolerate any of this further.

Forcing himself to sleep, he closed his eyes and slept off.

"Are they still in bed?" Veronica asked her handmaiden. She is sitting at the dining table with the rest of the family.

It had been over two hours since the time for breakfast, and they decided to wait for them until they couldn't wait any longer. Others suggested a maid inform them of breakfast, but Veronica was against the idea and told everyone to let them be.

"Yes Veronica," the handmaiden replied, causing Veronica's smile to widenmore. She already has a grandchild from her third son but she wanted a son from Elias the most.

"Don't be so excited, they could just be sleeping," Andrew said, advising her. He knew Elias well enough and he was certain they hadn't done anything.

"Shut your bad mouth," annoyed, Veronica scolded, glaring at him.

She also had that doubt in her but whenever it was about Elias, she always hoped. Even if they hadn't done the deed, she was happy they were still in bed together.

Meanwhile, in a room far away from the dining hall, Tessa slowly opened her eyes to find herself clutching onto Elias's body.

"Ahh, what have you done to me!!" Screaming, she removed herself from him and got out of the bed.
