Elias and Monica’s son

Elias turned his chair to face Tessa, who was already awake.

"How did you know?" She asked, sitting up, surprised that he could tell she wasn't actually asleep.

"What? That you were faking it?" He replied sarcastically, causing her to roll her eyes at his dramatic tone.

"I wasn't pretending. Your men woke me up with all their noise," she lied, using it as an excuse, though she knew it sounded unconvincing.

"You can go get ready for dinner. We will continue the novel later," he said, turning away to leave. But he paused when she called his name.

"Elias!" It came out so naturally that she hadn't even realized she addressed him by name instead of his title.

"Tessa!" He responded, glancing over his shoulder, his voice making her shiver. People rarely called her by her name, and she never cared. But hearing him say it so softly made her want to hear it again, it sounded too good coming from him.
