Chapter 10

It was going to be a good day today, I could feel it as I stood up from my bed with a long stretch, I looked at the mirror to see how my face gets pretty every day, my favorite thing to do every morning.

The memories of last night's date with Cavey played like a movie in my head. His mysterious eyes, his charming smile, and the way he looked at me, all felt like a dream.

I went to the bathroom, brushed my teeth, and took a shower. I felt so good after having my bath and drying myself with a towel. I dressed up and headed downstairs to go have breakfast with my family.

While going downstairs, I saw Kate, one of the helpers in the house.

"Good morning ma'am," she said bowing slightly.

"Good morning Kate, how are you"? I replied.

"I'm fine ma, your mother asked me to call you, she's at the dining table".

"Oh alright, Thanks". I said as I hastened my steps.

I could hear Mom's voice in the dining room talking to her beloved husband and giggling like they were kids.

"Good morning mummy, Dad." That came out well I said to myself.

"Morning sweetheart, come have breakfast," she said, she looked so happy and excited I knew something was up.

Looking at the dinner table there was so much to eat, there was always much to eat but today was different, breakfast was looking like we were expecting people who would be joining us soon.

"Mom, you look so happy, what's going on?" I asked curiously.

"Oh my, is it that obvious," she said, trying to act like she didn't know.

I slid into the dining chair, picked up a heart-shaped pancake on the dining table, and munched as Mom made my favorite coffee.

"Hmm, this pancake tastes so good," I said as I kept munching, didn't know when I had 3 already.

Mom smiled at me, as she kept ordering the help to bring more food.

"Can someone please explain what's going on?" I asked

"Well sweetheart some top investors have agreed to invest over 500 billion dollars into his bank, isn't that good news Sam?" Mom replied screaming and laughing in between which made it harder for me to understand what she was saying.

"Congratulations Dad," I said.

"Oh thank you Sam" we will be having a family dinner tomorrow, so get prepared". He said

And I gave a polite nod, as I excused myself from the dining before I blew my intestines out eating too much, but the pancakes were so good, so I rushed back and picked some with a napkin and put it inside my bag.

"Mom see you later, I'm stepping out," I said trying to sound casual.

"Well, have fun and be safe," she said, giving me a wink.

I got into my car and drove off to see Chloe at work.

I parked and got in but was told Chloe hadn't come to work, I was slightly worried and her number wasn't connecting.

We both agreed to meet at Chloe's workplace so I could introduce him to her, but she wasn't at work.

I saw Jeremy's car pulling up. My heart did a little flip.

He got out and walked toward me, looking effortlessly handsome in his casual attire.

"Good morning, Sam," he greeted me, his eyes twinkling.

"Good morning, cavey'I replied, smiling. "Cavey? Hmmm, that sounds new and cute", Ready for some action?" he asked smiling, opening the car door for me.

"Absolutely," I said, getting into the car. The drive to the training center was filled with light conversation and laughter.

He had this way of making me feel at ease like we'd known each other forever. When we arrived, I was surprised.

The training center was massive, with several rings and training areas, all busy with activity.

"Wow, this place is amazing," I said, stepping out of the car."Yeah, it's like my second home," he said, looking around fondly.

He led me inside, and I could feel the energy in the air. Fighters were training hard, practicing their moves, and the sound of punches hitting bags echoed throughout the space.

"Hey, everyone!" he called out, and a few heads turned to acknowledge him. He was well-liked here."This is Samantha," he introduced me. "She's here to check out the place."

"Hi, Samantha," a chorus of voices greeted me. I felt a bit shy but waved back."Come on, I'll show you around," he said, taking my hand and leading me through the training center.

He explained the different areas, and the equipment, and introduced me to some of the trainers and fighters.

"So, what do you think?" he asked after the tour.

"It's incredible. I've never seen anything like it," I said, genuinely impressed.

"Want to try some moves?" he asked, a mischievous glint in his eye."I don't know, I'm not really a fighter," I said, feeling a bit nervous.

"Don't worry, I'll teach you," he said, leading me to one of the rings. He handed me a pair of gloves and helped me put them on.

His touch was gentle, yet firm, and it sent a shiver down my spine."Okay, first things first. Let's start with some basic punches," he said, demonstrating a jab.

I tried to mimic his movements, but it felt awkward."Here, let me help you," he said, stepping behind me.

He placed his hands on my shoulders, guiding me through the motion."Like this," he said, his breath warm against my ear.

I followed his lead, and it felt much better. We continued practicing, and slowly, I started to get the hang of it.

He was patient and encouraging, making me feel more confident with each punch."You're doing great," he said, smiling.

"Thanks. This is actually kind of fun," I admitted, feeling a sense of accomplishment."See? I knew you'd like it," he said, giving me a playful nudge.

After a while, we took a break. He grabbed a couple of water bottles and handed one to me."Here you go," he said."Thanks," I replied, taking a sip.

"So, what made you get into kickboxing?" I asked, curious to know more about him.

"Well, I've always loved the sport. It's a great way to stay fit and release stress.

Plus, there's something about the discipline and focus it requires that really appeals to me," he explained."That makes sense. It's intense," I said, looking around at the fighters training hard.

"Yeah, it is. But it's also rewarding. You should come to one of my matches again sometime," he said, looking hopeful.

"I'd love to," I said,

smiling."Great. Now, let's get back to training," he said, standing up and offering me his hand.
