"I want these Spirit Beasts," Huang Longtian said, his eyes locking onto Leng Huangnu's.
Leng Huangnu nodded without hesitation. "Okay, these beast are now yours." She knew from the ancients records, that becoming a Spell Master, it required one know how to form formations and create talismans. So it wasn't really hard to guess why he needed these Spirit Beasts. Although, they were 5th Rank Spirit Beasts, she didn't care; she had eaten plenty of them at home.
Huang Longtian's eyes lit up, a smile forming from the corners of his mouth. Without delay, his fingers moved intricately, drawing the Spiritual Qi of Heaven and Earth. He wrote two words: "Spatial" and "Pouch". The words transformed into a black hole that sucked in all the Spirit Beasts.
Leng Huangnu's eyes widened in surprise as she watched Huang Longtian's display of skill. Her guards, Yu, Lu Bing, Dong Jiang and Dong Cai Hong, stood, with expressions of awe.
Yu furrowed his brow, whispering, "Is that... a Spatial Pouch Spell? So this is a Spell Master's method… No wonder they are so valued…"
With a huge grin on Huang Longtian's face, he declared: "Let's go. Our battle probably attracted other Spirit Beasts. We should leave now if we don't want to fight until exhaustion."
Huang Longtian's words made them snap of their stupor. Leng Huangnu's eyes were shining. Should I ask him to accept me as his disciple? Anything related to space was as rare as a phoenix's feather. If she could became a Spell Master, her position in her family would grow exponentially and she would have the power to help her sister.
The other guards nodded their head in agreement. They couldn't afford staying much longer, as the scent of blood could attract more Spirit Beasts.
The group resumed their journey, the atmosphere noticeably lighter. The guards seemed more at ease, and even Yu's hostility had diminished significantly. However, it didn't mean he no longer hated Huang Longtian; a narrowed-minded person like him wouldn't make peace so easily.
Huang Longtian walked alongside Leng Huangnu, they became much closer compared when they first met. Leng Huangnu no longer called him Master Huang but instead she called him Brother Longtian.
"You mentioned participating in the High Heaven Thundercloud Sect's disciple selection," Huang Longtian said, while walking. "Can you tell me more about the sect?"
Huang Longtian didn't know anything about the world he had been transferred to by the Primordial Origin Library. He wanted gather information to avoid making mistakes and remain ignorant of his surroundings.
Leng Huangnu looked at Huang Longtian strangely. He didn't even know the High Heaven Thundercloud Sect? Could he be from another domain? Northern Domain? Western Domain? No, even if he were from another domain, how could he possible not know about High Heaven Thundercloud Sect?
"The High Heaven Thundercloud Sect is one of the most formidable and prestigious sects in the Eastern Domain, alongside with the Seven Profound Martial House and the Frozen Cloud Immortal Palace," Leng Huangnu said, her face serious. "Known for its mastery over lightning and thunder-based techniques, the sect is situated atop the Thunderclouds Peak, where we are currently headed. Their disciples are renowned for their agility, destructive power, and unparalleled control over lightning."
"Apart from the Sect Master, Grandmaster Thunderstrike, who seldom appears in public, the other influential figure is the Vice-Sect Master and the Alchemy Pavilion's Pavilion Master, Chu Yuechan. She's renowned for her otherworldly beauty and unparalleled skills in alchemy. There are rumours about her being a fellow disciple of Grandmaster Thunderstrike, who has spent 300 years pursuing her, without success."
Leng Huangnu's eyes shone with evident admiration. Chu Yuechan was a legendary figure, highly respected by her father and mother. She really wanted to meet her.
An alchemist…. Huang Longtian's eyes narrowed slightly. "What about this disciple selection that you mentioned? Is the High Heaven Thundercloud Sect recruiting disciples?"
Leng Huangnu nodded, her expression thoughtful. "The disciple selection process is rigorous. It tests not only our cultivation and Origin Roots but also our resilience, intelligence, and adaptability. Only the best are chosen to join the High Heaven Thundercloud Sect. Of course, Brother Longtian, you don't have to worry about the cultivation test. Simply stating that you are a Spell Master would allow you to enter the sect and be highly valued."
Leng Huangnu voice carried a hint of jealousy as she said this. After all, it was also possible that he would enter the High Heaven Thundercloud Sect without needing to pass any tests, with high-ranking figures like the Sect Master and Vice-Sect Master fighting to accept him as a disciple.
Huang Longtian appeared thoughtful, as if absorbing every detail. "What kind of tests do they conduct?"
Leng Huangnu explained. "The selection involves several stages, including combat assessment and various other tests to push us past our limits. The sect values those who can think on their feet and handle unexpected situations."
Huang Longtian nodded, his expression calm. The Origin Roots Rank assessment was a concern. Even though the Primordial Origin Library had changed his body, he had no expectations. After all, he was just a normal human who had the luck to enter the Primordial Origin Library.
It was probably the best to reveal that he was a Spell Master. Although it might attract unwanted attention, it would also help with his foundation building. He already had the knowledge; now what he need most were ressources.
As they walked, Leng Huangnu continued sharing information about the High Heaven Thundercloud Sect and some others less important details.
The night fell, the group made camp, and Huang Longtian reflected briefly on the day's events. By morning, they were ready to continue their journey.
They rapidly pressed on toward the High Heaven Thundercloud Sect. The path grew more defined, and the forest began to thin out, revealing glimpses of a mountainous landscape ahead.
Huang Longtian could feel the excitement building among Leng Huangnu and her guards, though they maintained their vigilance. They didn't want to encounter another group of Spirit Beasts.
Finally, the group reached the base of the mountains. The terrain was rugged, and the air was charged with a strong lingering Lightning Spiritual Qi.
Leng Huangnu paused and turned to address the him. "Brother Longtian, we are approaching the entrance to the High Heaven Thundercloud Sect," she said. "From here on, we must be even more careful. The High Heaven Thundercloud Sect's territory is well-guarded, and only those with the proper credentials will be allowed entry."
Huang Longtian nodded in understanding, his expression calm.
As they ascended the mountain path, the surroundings grew more impressive. The air was filled with the sound of distant thunder, and occasional flashes of lightning illuminated the sky. Huang Longtian could sense the immense power emanating from it. He also noted formations around the mountain, likely the sect's protection formation.
At last, they reached the entrance to the High Heaven Thundercloud Sect. Massive stone pillars flanked the path, inscribed with intricate symbols that pulsed with a faint, glowing energy. Bellow, one could see the exact phrase: "Harness the Lightning, Command the Heavens!"
How imposing, though Huang Longtian.
Guards clad in imposing armor stood watch, their expressions rigid and serious.
Leng Huangnu stepped forward, presenting a token to the guards. "We are here to participate in the sect disciple selection," she declared.
The guards examined the token, then nodded and stepped aside. "You may enter," one of them said, his voice echoing with authority. "Proceed to the main courtyard. The selection process will begin shortly."
As the group passed through the entrance, Huang Longtian felt a surge of excitement and anticipation. The High Heaven Thundercloud Sect was even more magnificent than he had imagined. The courtyard was expansive, filled with numerous cultivators who had come to change their lives and destinies.
Leng Huangnu led the way, her beautiful face, focused and determined. "This is it," she said softly. "A whole new life wait for us, Brother Longtian."
