rain

The weather was gloomy. It doesn't show any signs of stopping anytime soon, it was a relief that Xie Mingze had an umbrella in his locker. That could atleast keep him out of the rain until the parking lot.

"We still have one more subject before the end of class, I hoped it stops raining."

"Yep, despite owning an umbrella I'm not even sure if I could stay dry because the wind is a bit strong today."

Hai Zheyan dramatically fell on his desk, "They should've cancelled today's class."

"You're asking for too much. It's just one bad weather."

Although, the dark clouds and the cold makes him sleepy. Xie Mingze pinched himself multiple times while in lecture just to stay awake. The prof is not boring, it's just the atmosphere forcing him to fall asleep.

"What is happening with the world, all of you are near the end of your college lives and here you are sleeping like pigs!"

With a loud bang the professory hit the table with a thick book, forcing the people sleeping awake. The people forced their eyes to open, while those who went back to sleep was forced to stand by the professor.

"Just stand so you won't fall asleep. Or better yet let's have a fun activity, since the weather is a bit bad and summer sem is ending, playing a small game won't hurt anyone."

The professor started passing a ball, it's the basic pass the object and whoever the ball stopped as soon as the music stopped the person would be asked to dance to a random beat.

"This is perfect since we are music majors, is everyone ready?"

"Yes!"

The earlier gloom was exchanged with people bustling with excitement, it's time to pass the ball.

After class, the rain is still going strong, "I'll be going ahead, my driver is at the entrance."

"Bye, Zheyan."

"Bye, see you tomorrow Ming"

While he was fixing his things, he didn't realized that almost everyone had left the room. It was eerily quiet. Perhaps because it was raining the people had packed up faster than usual, while Xie Mingze remained the same.

He looked at his shoes, it's worned out he would need to buy another pair on the weekend. Trying to calculate the salary he would receive on his partjob, it looked like the money is just enough to buy a new pair.

Knock, knock.

"Is Mr. Xie Mingze still in the room?"

"What are you doing here? I thought you are in a meeting."

By the doorframe was a familiar figure. He was wearing a suit, with his body leaning on the door frame like he was watching a show.

"Quit standing there and seat first. I'm just checking if I have everything before leaving."

"You got a lot of things inside your bag, did you bring your whole house? A notebook and pen is enough."

"I'll get paranoid if I need something and it's not there."

While Xie Mingze was busy putting the things inside, on the contrary Fen Yichen was busy looking through it.

"Stop messing up when I'm organizing my things."

"I'm just checking what you have here. Oh you even have an extension."

He burst out laughing while pulling the extension out of his bag, "My Ming is like a boyscout, ready for anything that would come his way. I wonder is he ready for this?"

Mingze turned around in annoyance while grumbling, "Ready for what?"

A soft familiar sensation landed on his cheeks, then his mouth.

"..."

"Ming is not ready for surprise attacks."

They say it's only the first time that's hard. Fen Yichen always kissed his face like this, it pains Mingze that he was getting used to his affectionate kiss and touch.

"I'll seriously punch you in the face, hurry and fix my things."

"I missed you so much, we haven't seen each other for the whole day."

It took great patience to not roll his eyes at all the absurd things Yichen did when they are together.

As soon as they arrived back in the entrance, there is no car.

"Oliver, there you are. Why did you run off from the cafeteria? Give me the keys back."

"Nevermind, I can buy you a new one." Fen Yichen said coldly while looking at Oliver.

Obviously, the man doesn't have an umbrella. They can't exactly lend him the umbrella in Mingze's hand because they only have that one. According to Yichen he left his in the car.

"What nonsense, that's our car. You aren't even used to commuting." Mingze lightly scolded Yichen, who casually give cars away, like it was a random tissue he bought in the supermarket.

"I thought you didn't want the color and would like me to swap for a new black one." Oliver said, casually handing back the key to Xie Mingze's palm.

Rich people's head are really something Mingze can't comprehend. When did he ever mention about wanting another color as compensation, he facepalmed before sighing.

"Thanks again for lending me your car."

"It feels a bit awkward when the real owner is just behind me."

Mingze could clearly feel Yichen staring at him.

"It doesn't matter, you could lend the car. What's mine is yours baby."

It took everything he have just to not cringe, remembering his role as a fake lover. So they need to pretend even in frot of Oliver?

"I received the invitation for your family's party."

"Oh, then I would expect you bring a nice gift for the party."

He casually tossed their only umbrella to Oliver, after snatching it from Mingze's hands and then casually draping him with his jacket.

"You can use that." Yichen said before picking up Mingze from the ground and running in the rain.

"W-wait, crazy you're going to get us wet!"

Of course his shouts were ignored as Yichen run until the parking lot. The rain was heavy, the jacket didn't help that much. The only thing that's good is his is not dripping wet because the jacket absorbed majority of the rain.
