Tell me about your day

"Don't mention it," he replied, giving me a weary smile. His eyes were heavy with exhaustion, but there was still a spark in them.. a fire that hadn't been extinguished, even after everything we'd been through. I nodded, appreciating his unspoken support.

I lay back, my body sinking into the worn cushions of the makeshift bed we'd set up in the corner of the safehouse. The events of the night weighed heavily on me, each muscle in my body aching from the strain. The adrenaline that had fueled me during the mission was long gone, leaving only the throbbing pain and the dull ache of fatigue. My eyes drifted to the clock on the wall.. it was five in the morning.
