Yuna's curiosity was piqued. "What is it?" she asked eagerly.
William smiled enigmatically. "Wait here." He stepped outside and returned moments later with a cross-body bag. From it, he pulled out a sketchbook, opened it to a specific page, and handed it to Yuna.
"Take a look. Doesn't it look better than the original?" he joked, taking a seat next to her. The page was split into two, with two drawings on display. The one on the left appeared to be the work of a three-year-old, while the one on the right was a beautifully rendered pencil sketch. Yuna's eyes widened as she recognized the portrait drawing she had done of them when she was little.
A small smile escaped her lips. "Hmm, the one on the right looks way better."
William chuckled heartily. "You really weren't good at drawing," he teased.
Yuna's eyes met his, her expression incredulous.
"You drew this?" she asked, her voice laced with disbelief.
William nodded, his smile still in place.
"In my spare time," he replied, his eyes twinkling with pride.
Yuna couldn't believe the transformation in her uncle's drawing skills. In fact, many things about him were different. His features were more defined, his looks more handsome, and his aura more charming. He exuded an overflow of happiness.
William carefully took the sketchbook from Yuna's hands, his fingers gently tracing the edges of the page. With a delicate touch, he tore out the page, the sound of the paper ripping filling the air. He smiled warmly, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Here, an early birthday gift," he said, his voice filled with affection.
He handed the page over to Yuna, who received it with a beaming smile. Her eyes shone with gratitude as she took the page, her fingers closing around it as if it were a precious treasure.
"Thank you," she said, her voice filled with sincerity.
William's smile grew wider, his eyes sparkling with happiness. "I'm glad you like it," he said, his voice filled with warmth.
"I thought it was a nice way to preserve the memory of your childhood artwork."
Yuna's gaze drifted down to the page, her eyes tracing the lines of the drawing. Her smile grew wider, her face filling with joy. "It's amazing" she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I can't believe how much better the new version looks."
William chuckled, his eyes lit up with a smile "Well, I've had a lot of practice since then" he said, his voice filled with humor. "But I'm glad you like it. It's a special memory for me too." This tender moment was precisely what Yuna had been longing for - a heartwarming exchange with her beloved uncle, free from distractions. The warmth of their reunion was evident, and she reveled in the simplicity of sharing a smile with him once again, just the two of them.
Just then, Kaida entered with a tray bearing three refreshing drinks: orange juice, watermelon juice, and a colorful Kool Kid drink.
With a thoughtful smile, she handed the orange juice to William and the watermelon juice to Yuna. William's eyes twinkled as he teased, "Still a sucker for watermelon, eh?" Yuna's love for watermelon was unwavering, and her uncle's playful jab only brought a grin to her face.
As they sipped their drinks, Kaida's gaze swept the room, noticing August's absence.
"Where's the little boy?" she asked, her voice tinged with curiosity. William began to respond, but before he could utter a word, a tiny voice piped up, "Here!" August appeared, his little hands raised in excitement.
