Chapter 483: Avira's feelings

Avira's POV

I'm glad that my in-law, King Oscar, was recovering well, and he seems to enjoy his stay in our kingdom. After that battle, they will go back in Altas.

After our dinner, everyone went to their room and took a rest. We've been in Arcana East pretty much lately. My husband was standing on the balcony, drinking a glass of brandy.

I know he was worried about what might happen in two weeks. I walk toward the balcony and stand next to him, facing the darkness of the night.

"I know you still wish to stand in front of our children and protect them. What you said a while ago is half meant to be true," I remarked. He turns his head and looks at me.

"I'm their dad. It's my duty to protect my children. I am choosing to be a dad on this one, not a king that they need to protect, Avira. I can't be that person," he murmurs.

"How about me? Do you think I won't make such sacrifices for our children?"
