“I’m worried about Enora, Elio.”, Leonora said, her voice tinged with concern. “She has been through so much lately, and now this… what if something happened to her? What if the humans get to her?”

Elio sighed softly, swirling the liquid in his glass and his brow furrowing in thought. “I know Leonora. But what can we do? There is no denying the mate bond, you know that.”, he replied, his voice filled with frustration.

“Elio, I think we must tell Enora what she is.”, Leonora stated firmly, even though she was unsure. The topic had been weighing heavily on her mind for some time now. Elio shook his head determinedly.

“You know we cannot do that! The Oracle forbade us to do so!”, he said decisively, and took a sip from his drink.

“So what is the Oracle going to do if we do it anyway?”, Leonora said. She wanted to defy orders to make her daughter feel good again. It pained her to see Enora doubting herself.

Elio looked up in surprise to his wife. “You know that it might screw up the prophecy.”, he said in minor shock. Leonora took his hands into hers.

“We don’t even know for sure that the prophecy is about Enora.”, Leonora exclaimed in frustration. “It said ‘old enemies must unite’. I mean, Enora was brought up so far outside of these communities, what enemies could she possibly encounter? “

Sebastian looked around the crowd gathered in the clearing drinking and eating to celebrate their new leadership. He was trying to locate Enora. Not because anything was wrong, quite the opposite, the event was well planned, but because he wanted her. He felt himself getting anxious and just wanted to hold her to get calm again. 


He nudged Lucas, who was standing with his back to him, talking to a different group of people. “Do you know where Enora is?”, Sebastian whispered to him. Lucas shook his head. “Probably check on the food?”, he suggested, and continued his talk to the pack members he was speaking to.
