“I’m worried about Enora, Elio.”, Leonora said, her voice tinged with concern. “She has been through so much lately, and now this… what if something happened to her? What if the humans get to her?”

Elio sighed softly, swirling the liquid in his glass and his brow furrowing in thought. “I know Leonora. But what can we do? There is no denying the mate bond, you know that.”, he replied, his voice filled with frustration.

“Elio, I think we must tell Enora what she is.”, Leonora stated firmly, even though she was unsure. The topic had been weighing heavily on her mind for some time now. Elio shook his head determinedly.

“You know we cannot do that! The Oracle forbade us to do so!”, he said decisively, and took a sip from his drink.

“So what is the Oracle going to do if we do it anyway?”, Leonora said. She wanted to defy orders to make her daughter feel good again. It pained her to see Enora doubting herself.

Elio looked up in surprise to his wife. “You know that it might screw up the prophecy.”, he said in minor shock. Leonora took his hands into hers.

“We don’t even know for sure that the prophecy is about Enora.”, Leonora exclaimed in frustration. “It said ‘old enemies must unite’. I mean, Enora was brought up so far outside of these communities, what enemies could she possibly encounter? “

Enora awoke to the soft rays of sunlight filtering through the curtains, casting a warm glow over the room. She stretched her limbs, feeling the stiffness in her muscles from spending so much time in bed. But despite the comfort of the plush pillows and soft blankets, Enora was sick of being confined to her bed. Her injuries were healing, thanks to the doctor’s help. 


With a sigh, she pushed herself upright, her mind filled with restless energy. She longed to be up and about, to feel the rush of adrenaline coursing through her veins as she tackled the challenges of the day. But as she swung her legs over the edge of the bed, she was met with a wave of dizziness, a reminder of her recent ordeal.
