Chapter 6: Danzo's Obsession

"Yoru, this is the latest directive from Lord Danzo," a ninja from the Root organization handed Ryuto a scroll.

Ryuto nodded and took the scroll. "Yoru" was his code name in the Root.

The two did not exchange more words. After handing over the scroll, the Root ninja quickly vanished.

Ryuto was a hidden pawn in the Root, and too much contact would be problematic if discovered by the ANBU.

Before the Root ninja left, Ryuto assessed him.

[Name: Hirashi Mizu

Potential: B

Chakra: 7000

Evaluation: A fairly skilled Jonin]

Seeing the impressive chakra level of 7000, Ryuto couldn't help but feel a bit envious.

He didn't even have 5000, a difference of five from the six-year-old Shisui.

Once the sensing jutsu could no longer detect the Root ninja, Ryuto entered his room and opened the scroll to see Danzo's latest order.

"Uchiha Shisui in your class is a genius of the Uchiha clan. Monitor his actions, assess his character, and evaluate him."

After reading it, Ryuto sighed. Danzo's obsession with the Uchiha was almost pathological.

Shisui was only six years old this year, just starting at the ninja academy.

Such a young child, simply because he had a reputation for being a bit of a genius within his clan, Danzo wanted him monitored and evaluated.

Of course, it was also possible that Danzo had plans for Shisui and wanted to recruit him into the Root.

However, Ryuto didn't think Danzo's plan would succeed. The Third Hokage would make sure Danzo knew who the real Hokage was.

The Third could tolerate the existence of the Root organization but not one that was excessively powerful.

The potential of a genius Uchiha was too high; no one knew how strong he could become.

So, a genius Uchiha either stayed obediently within the Uchiha clan or joined the ANBU.

After reading it, Ryuto used a Fire Release jutsu to destroy the scroll.

This new directive was still within Ryuto's acceptable range. Even if Danzo hadn't sent someone specifically, Ryuto would have reported Shisui's genius status during his usual reports.

Because Ryuto felt that hiding it would be meaningless given Danzo's attention to the Uchiha, it would only bring trouble upon himself.

Ryuto created a shadow clone to practise ninjutsu while he himself began training to increase his chakra.

Currently, his biggest weakness was his chakra. So that is why he could only create a limited number of shadow clones as opposed to Naruto who could create thousands.

No matter how many jutsus he learned or how proficient he became, without enough chakra, it would be difficult to exert their power.

A ninja with little chakra is limited in strength, while a ninja with a lot of chakra, no matter how weak, is still relatively strong. One could say that chakra determines a ninja's limits.

**The Next Day**

Since he didn't have classes in the morning, Ryuto took this time to visit the academy's archive room.

He wanted to organize the exam papers for the fourth grade from recent years. The process went smoothly, and he even managed to find the first-grade papers.

His main goal was to train students, but improving their theoretical scores wasn't an empty promise.

After some research, he found that the exam questions didn't change much each year. Each question type remained the same, only with different wording or data. Some papers even had identical questions.

Ryuto nodded, feeling confident about the two students passing their exams.

It seemed they wouldn't even need to practice much. Just doing the papers from the previous two years should suffice for them to pass.

After taking a few papers, Ryuto left the archive room and went to the office.

"She was listening to me all day yesterday; she's clearly interested in me!"

"Or maybe she just doesn't want to talk to you."

"She even suggested splitting the bill when we paid, showing she's considerate of me!"

"Or maybe she just didn't want you to use the 'one person pays' excuse to ask her out again."

When Ryuto entered the office, he saw Aya arguing with Ikeda.

Ryuto looked at Sugihito Kimura, who was watching the drama.

"Yesterday, Ikeda went on a date. He was telling us about it and asking for advice on how to pursue the girl, but Aya thinks the girl isn't interested and is advising him to move on," Sugihito explained briefly.

"Yashiro-sensei, you're just in time. Do you have any special tips for pursuing girls?" Ikeda quickly asked upon seeing Ryuto.

He thought Ryuto looked like someone who had many girlfriends.

"Special tips? I think as long as you show your sincerity, it should be enough," Ryuto replied with giving much thought.

Whether he had tips or not was another matter, but even if he did, Ryuto wouldn't share them with Ikeda, as it didn't fit his persona.

"Sincerity..." Ikeda looked troubled, wondering how to convey that.

"Give it up, Isamu. Look at Yashiro-sensei's face. He doesn't need anything in addition, girls will come running after him just for his good looks. His tips might not work for you," Aya said softly.

"That's impossible! I admit he is a bit more handsome than me, but the difference isn't that big," Ikeda protested.

"You really won't listen until you hit a wall," Aya sighed, looking at the stubborn Ikeda.

Being a woman herself, she could tell from Ikeda's story that the date was a lost cause, but he refused to believe it.

"Good luck," Ryuto smiled encouragingly. What else could he say? Even Aya, as his friend, couldn't convince him.

Besides, Ryuto hoped Ikeda would stay busy so he could substitute for his class, Grade 4, Class 2.

Encouraged by Ryuto, Isamu felt more confident.

---

In the afternoon, Ryuto tried a little experiment. He deliberately lowered the quality of his lecture.

Based on previous system comments, he guessed that lecture ratings had two major components: lecture content quality and student satisfaction.

He wanted to get a B-grade evaluation because the first time he got an A-grade, he received an extra reward.

By the same logic, the first time he got a B-grade should also yield an extra reward.

[Lecture completed, calculating...]

[Evaluation: B]

[Reward: Chakra +20]

[First B-grade lecture, extra reward: Proficient Chakra Shape Transformation]

Ryuto's mind was suddenly filled with information about practising chakra shape transformation.

He was pleasantly surprised.

In the chakra system, shape transformation was on par with nature transformation, both effectively enhancing jutsu.

Although he had only achieved proficiency in shape transformation and not mastery, it was not limited to chakra nature.

Speaking of shape transformation, one had to mention the Rasengan, which Naruto mastered through persistent practice.

Rasengan was a prime example of shape transformation, having immense power without needing nature transformation.

"I can start developing the Rasengan," Ryuto decided to develop this practical A-rank, hand-sign-free jutsu.

With detailed training procedures from the original series and his knowledge of shape transformation, the process shouldn't be too difficult.

The chakra from the B-grade evaluation also gave Ryuto a new consideration for future classes.

He thought he could occasionally aim for B-grades. The individual rewards might be small, but they would add up.

Adding Rasengan development to his schedule, Ryuto found his life incredibly fulfilling.

During the day, he taught in class. In the evening, he guided Shisui. At night, he practiced and developed jutsu. On weekends, he gave special training to Might Guy and Obito. His schedule was packed.

Ryuto wished he could maintain this peaceful life and steadily develop for a few years.

Unfortunately, he hadn't crossed over to a peaceful era, making it hard to enjoy quiet days.

On the next day of Ryuto's time in the ninja world, bad news arrived from the front lines.
