Upon returning to Baili Stone City, the Uchiha's stronghold on the Congyun Mountain battlefield, Izuna wasted no time settling the troops and preparing for his next move. With the Hyuga threat neutralized, his focus shifted toward the deteriorating situation on the northern front.
Uchiha Zhan entered the main camp with a look of urgency, bowing deeply. "Deputy Clan Leader, urgent news from the northern front. Uchiha Ishiki's forces were routed by the Kaguya Clan's leader, and Hatake Suiya led a counterattack that left Gakuye severely wounded. The situation is critical, and they are requesting reinforcements."
Izuna's face hardened. "The Kaguya and Hatake clans together? This complicates things."
"Indeed," Uchiha Zhan confirmed, his voice tense. "If reinforcements aren't sent, the northern front could collapse entirely."
Izuna closed his eyes, processing the grim report. "If we divert forces from here, it'll weaken our position against the Senju Alliance. We can't afford that."
Zhan hesitated but nodded. "What are your orders, Deputy Clan Leader?"
Izuna opened his eyes, resolute. "Hold your position. Do not act rashly. I will personally return to the clan to resolve this matter."
The other Uchiha in the room exchanged uncertain glances. Uchiha Zhan asked cautiously, "Do you have a plan?"
Izuna's gaze sharpened. "I do. Trust me."
Without waiting for further questions, Izuna activated the Flying Thunder God Technique and disappeared.
Madara lay restlessly in his quarters, frustrated and in pain. His once-dominant Mangekyō Sharingan was deteriorating, leaving him powerless to join the battlefield. Every report from the frontlines felt like a dagger to his pride.
The pain in his eyes suddenly flared, sharp and unrelenting. Madara clutched his face, staggering. A knock at the door broke his struggle.
"Clan Leader, are you all right?" a maid asked timidly, entering with a tray of medicine.
"I'm fine," Madara growled, waving her away. "Leave the medicine and go."
The maid hesitated, worried about her leader's worsening condition, but obeyed, placing the tray down before retreating.
Moments later, Madara heard a commotion in the courtyard. Rising to investigate, he saw his brother, Izuna, stepping confidently into the compound.
"Brother!" Madara called, relief flashing across his face.
Izuna approached, flanked by Uchiha Sashu, the clan's intelligence minister.
"You're back, Izuna," Madara said, his voice tight with anticipation. "Have you returned with a plan?"
Izuna nodded. "Yes. The situation on the northern front is dire, but there is a solution. You, brother."
Madara frowned. "Me? I'm in no condition to fight, Izuna. My eyes…"
"That's exactly why I'm here." Izuna gestured to the group of medical shinobi gathering behind him. "We're going to replace your eyes."
Madara's expression darkened. "Replace my eyes? You mean transplant them? Are you out of your mind, Izuna? The Mangekyō Sharingan is the pinnacle of Uchiha power. Replacing it with inferior eyes would weaken me beyond repair."
"Not if you're receiving my eyes," Izuna countered.
The room fell silent. Even the seasoned medics and Sashu exchanged shocked looks.
"Your eyes?" Madara's voice softened, his disbelief giving way to understanding.
"Yes, my eyes," Izuna confirmed. "Together, our Mangekyō Sharingan will transcend its limits. You'll awaken the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, free from the curse of blindness and stronger than ever."
Madara's pride flared for a moment. "You would sacrifice your eyes for me?"
Izuna smirked. "Don't be dramatic. I've planned for this moment. You know as well as I do that the future of Uchiha depends on having a leader who can inspire fear and respect across the Warring States. That leader is you."
Madara's fists clenched, torn between gratitude and guilt. But he knew his brother was right.
"Fine," he said, his voice steady. "Let's do it."
Madara lay on a makeshift operating table, his usual stoicism replaced with a rare flicker of vulnerability. The lead medic prepared the instruments, her hands trembling slightly under the weight of what was about to happen.
"Begin," Izuna ordered, his tone leaving no room for hesitation.
