Chapter:205

People are more likely to remember one grudge than a hundred acts of kindness.

That is the flaw of human nature.

In the original timeline, Uchiha was cornered—beaten down by Senju until they had no choice but to accept Hashirama's peace.

Izuna had originally intended to reverse history.

Instead of being forced into an alliance, he wanted to break Senju completely—to the point where they could barely breathe before uniting under Uchiha.

But reality wasn't that simple.

And Izuna wasn't stubborn.

If one path failed, he would choose another.

Madara and Hashirama both believed Uchiha and Senju could never reconcile.

But Izuna disagreed.

In his previous life, he had read about the Three Kingdoms Era—where once-hostile factions, Shu and Wu, allied against a common enemy, Wei.

They still betrayed each other later, but at the time, the alliance was necessary.

If Senju and Uchiha were to unite, they needed a shared enemy.

But who?

Even if you looked across the entire ninja world, no single clan could match Senju and Uchiha combined.

What if they forced all the other clans to unite?

What if every other ninja clan in the Warring States believed that Uchiha and Senju were planning to conquer the world?

The fear alone would drive them together.

How do you spread that fear?

Simple.

Start a rumor.

The rumor spread like wildfire:

> "Uchiha and Senju plan to carve up the world between them!"

"They will sweep through the Warring States, erasing all other clans!"

"Only by uniting can we stop them!"

Even though most ninja clans had spies and reconnaissance units, rumors were powerful.

Especially when they came from within Uchiha and Senju themselves.

Only the top leaders of each clan knew the truth.

Everyone else?

They panicked.

At first, many refused to believe it.

But when even some Uchiha and Senju members hesitated and wondered if it was true, the uncertainty grew.

Among them, the widows of fallen warriors and the civilians did not resist the idea.

They wanted peace.

They wanted their children to grow up without war.

If an alliance with Senju meant an end to the bloodshed, then maybe…

Maybe it wasn't so bad?

And yet, neither Madara nor Hashirama made a public statement.

Silence only made the rumor stronger.

Meanwhile, the ninja clans of the Warring States began their own investigations.

The Hyuga Alliance, Sarutobi, Shimura, and the Ino-Shika-Cho clans could not afford to ignore it.

Among them, the Sarutobi-Shimura faction posed the greatest risk.

A Deadly Chase in the Northern Fire Country

The forests of the northern Fire Country, near the Senju-Sarutobi border.

Two groups of ninja darted through the trees, one chasing the other.

The pursuers—eight elite shinobi.

The fugitives—three desperate warriors, running for their lives.

A sudden voice rang out:

"Wind Release: Vacuum Wave!"

A storm blade tore through the trees ahead, slicing through wood as it hurtled toward the runners.

One of the fugitives turned, hands flashing through hand seals.

"Earth Style: Earth Wall!"

A massive stone barrier rose from the ground, temporarily blocking the attack.

But only for a few seconds.

A second Wind Release jutsu struck, shattering the wall.

Two kunai whistled through the air, cloaked in Wind Chakra, and pierced the defender's shoulders.

Blood spurted.

The ninja cried out, losing his footing—and plummeted from the trees.

"Kill him!" one of the pursuers ordered.

"No! Forget him!" their leader barked. "We need the other two—fast!"

The remaining fugitives sprinted forward, but they were outnumbered.

The battle was inevitable.

Steel clashed.

Kunai met kunai.

But the eight pursuers had the advantage.

Within minutes, the two fugitives were surrounded.

One of them glared at the Wind Release users.

"Shimura… so it's you."

The leader of the Shimura team didn't respond.

Instead, he held out his hand.

"Hand over the scroll."

The captive ninja clenched his jaw.

After a moment, he threw the scroll forward.

"Doesn't matter. You'll find out soon enough."

The moment the scroll was airborne, the two captives attacked.

"Senju Sword Art: Shadow Killing Technique!"

Two Shimura shinobi dropped dead.

"Bastards!" the leader cursed. "Kill them!"

The battle resumed, but the damage was done.

Four Shimura warriors died retrieving the information.

When their leader finally read the scroll, his hands shook.

His eyes widened.

"It's… true!?"

His comrades frowned.

"Captain… what's going on?"

The leader didn't answer.

Instead, he shoved the scroll into his tool pouch.

"No time! We must return to the clan—NOW!"

Back in the forest, the wounded ninja, the one with kunai embedded in his shoulders, slowly rose to his feet.

His shoulders were crudely bandaged.

He stumbled forward, staring at the two fallen bodies of his comrades.

He exhaled a shaky breath.

"It worked… but at what cost?"

His gaze turned to the sky.

"May this really bring an age of peace…"
