Borrowed power

When Lydia did not reply after 30 seconds, the chamberlain raised his head. Then the physician and the servants followed.

"Sir Josue informed us you had awoken, your highness. Since you have been asleep for a long time, we brought a physician to check on your condition."

"This is Madam Aster," the chamberlain said as he opened his palm to introduce the middle-aged woman who had just stepped forward. "If you permit, she will assess you as quickly as possible to ensure there are no lingering complications."

Lydia stared at Aster. Unlike the maids in the back, her eyes were clearer, free of emotions, but she still retreated further on the bed while eyeing them cautiously.

'I need to act well to ensure she diagnose me of memory loss, but before that, if possible, I should ensure what happened earlier won't happen again.'
