Walking from behind the coffin to the left is a man I've hated for so long. The headmaster now has a very unique attire. He is wearing a long robe, but his right side is bright white while his left side is jet black. Seeing these two sides of him, we know right away what the colors represented.
"You two aren't respecting the dead. At least greet the ancient one if you are visiting." The headmaster joked as he walked closer, and he stood right between us and the sarcophagus.
"We'd rather not be so loud. Because, you know? They might wake up." I said as a joke as well, and the headmaster only laughed hearing that.
"Well, fortunately for you… They're already waking up." The headmaster said with such a cold tone, and I realized what he meant might've been true. "I told you that by the time you realize it will be too late."
"And yet, they are still down there. Sleeping. Inside their coffin." Next to me, Eric stepped forward with his sword on his shoulder. From the looks of it, he has every intention to fight an all out battle.
"If that war demon really is going to wake up, then go ahead. I'll just kick his ass." Eric said with such confidence, and the headmaster let out a sigh.
"You younglings know nothing. When I said they are already waking up, that means they are still asleep. They will wake up quite soon, once all the preparations have been prepared." The headmaster said with a cold smile, and I only giggled at him.
"Of course! Naturally, that preparation is going… flawless, I presume?" I said while wearing a wide grin, and the headmaster's smile disappeared instantly.
"… You're saying?"
"I don't know. You told me to figure things out myself, and that made me wonder.
What if… my mother left behind notes for me?"
I said as a taunt to him, making him think that my mother might leave behind something for me to know about. As he had mentioned before, he came to my village to murder my mother, and it was because she knew some things that might go against his plans.
And seeing his cold glare now, I knew right away that what I'm saying is working.
Please. Just bite it. Take the bait.
"And what are those notes… supposed to say?" He asked with a cold tone, and I just giggled at him.
"As a wise man once said, 'You can figure that out by yourself'." I repeated his own words at him, and his expression cannot look any worse.
"The others are outside. If you want to stop them, you might want to hurry." Eric said right after I said my part, and the headmaster realized what we were planning. "In the meantime, we'll be messing with the dead guy. I've always wanted to raid an ancient tomb like this!"
Eric is a very good actor. His creativity with his choice of words is really incredible. And thanks to him, the headmaster realizes the weight of the situation right away.
"In that case, I must thank you for warning me. Now then, if you'll excuse me--"
"Now, hold on a second. Before you leave, there's something I have to say to the other guy." I said right as the headmaster was about to teleport away, and his eyes were opened widely at me.
I knew right away that this is Zero listening, and I just pointed a thumbs down at him.
"Don't forget. Our score is still 1 to 0. Dumbass." I said with such a condescending tone at him, and the headmaster looked like he busted a blood vessel on his neck.
"... Haa~??" From the tone of the voice, both me and Eric knew right away that the one talking is Zero.
From inside his own body, the headmaster took control of the mouth. "Zero. We need to focus on the--"
"Screw the summoning! Let me beat up this brat!!" Zero cuts his other self instantly by focusing more on me, and I knew that this is exactly how Zero would act.
I beat him before. And from the conversation we had at the academy, Zero wanted a rematch very much. It seems as if his pride was hurt when I defeated him, and I'm sure I only won because he was holding himself back or something.
And now that he has all the permission in the world to go all out. He definitely wants payback. Of course, this is part of our plan based on what Eric suggested, which is to try and split the two of them from each other.
"No. Zero. Listen to me. Remember our vengeance." The headmaster said to himself, or rather, to his other personality that is raging inside.
However, Zero's pride is much tougher than he thinks.
"That will come anyway, Hendrick! This revenge… needs to be done now." Zero then lifted his left hand, and he touched the left ear of his own head.
"No, Zero, wait!!---" Not even the headmaster can beat what is currently happening.
For two people to exist in one body, they both must be able to accept one another to live as one. If just one decided to act against the other, then they won't be able to coexist.
Zero pulled his left ear really hard, and it somehow pulled away another head from the existing one. After the head was pulled from the original, the body follows. As the two were splitting up into two bodies quite disgustingly, Eric and I could only watch in awe. They both had the same appearance and clothes, but now there's two of them gradually separating from one another.
I knew this was the right call. Eric's idea is really wonderful.
"Looks like it's working." I said to Eric while whispering, and the guy nodded.
"Having two personalities can sometimes be rough." He said out of the blue, and I became really confused as to why he said that.
Meanwhile, the separation seemed to be complete. Both Zero and the headmaster had now separated themselves from each other, and the headmaster took his time to catch his breath before rushing over and holding Zero by his neck.
"You damn fool!! This is not the time for us to focus on personal matters--"
"It's not a personal matter!! It's about teaching this kid what it is like when we go all out!!" The headmaster is really trying his best to make Zero understand, but luckily, Zero is just too emotional.
From just their conversation, I knew right away that the headmaster is the logical side and Zero is the emotional one. If they really are the same person, then the split also separates two characteristics from the same individual.
Even if they came from the same singular entity, Zero and the headmaster will always be two different people.
"Tsk. Fine. Have it your way." The headmaster said with annoyance, and he turned his pissed off gaze towards me who is keeping the same gaze at him. "This time, don't lose. Protect the coffin at all cost."
Protect… huh? It sounds like the sarcophagus behind them is quite important.
"I was only holding back in the past because you told me to! Now, forget the prophecy. I'll tear up this child's limbs so bad he can't walk anymore!" Zero said while cracking his fingers, and his entire body gradually got covered in black armor.
Seeing how instant the armor appeared around his body, I knew right away that the armor was never made of metal. In the first place, for an armor to appear out of nowhere and suddenly equip itself is not a technology that has been found yet. This armor is made out of darkness origin, which was Zero's specialty.
Meanwhile, the light origin side is cautiously thinking about our plans.
"Nathan. This isn't the first time you've messed with my plans. Once Zero is done with you… I'm afraid there won't be anything else left for you in this world." The headmaster threatened me so coldly, and I only laughed at him being so scary.
"You can talk! Honestly, you sounded like Zero just now." I said while pointing at the man in black armor, and the headmaster only turned a disgusted gaze at Zero.
"What!? I'm literally you!" Zero said to the headmaster, and the headmaster ignored him and turned his cold glare back to me.
"Forget it. I'll come back here once I wipe out all of your army. Don't blame me for being merciless, Son of Fae." The headmaster said as his body started to glow, and I noticed that he is going to teleport with his light origin.
In a blink of an eye, the room turned quite bright. The light lasted for a second before finally dissipating, and the headmaster is no longer standing at where he previously was.
Now, it's just Zero and us.
"I must say, now that the black knight girl is gone, facing you is going to be a piece of cake!" Zero said with such a mocking tone, and I knew he was going to use Felicia to rile me up.
"Eric." I called Eric next to me, and I noticed that he is also gradually increasing his strength.
"What's up?"
"Let's be as destructive as we can. That thing behind him is definitely a key to stopping the summoning." I said while staring at the sarcophagus behind Zero, and Eric nodded in understanding.
Beforelong, our released power began to shake the world around us. With the Limit Break activated, releasing the thousands of origin energy points inside of us is no big deal, and the sands as well as the entire surface above us shook heavily.
"You think you two are the only ones who can use Limit Break!?" Zero angrily stated as he too powers up, and a black blazing flame can be seen surrounding his body.
This appearance must be his aura, and it appears only when he is releasing so much power that the energy becomes visible. Eric and I were doing the same thing as him, yet our aura is only barely visible compared to his that has powerfully waving around his body.
"What you asked for… it might not be that difficult. That guy is probably going to be far more destructive than us." Eric pointed out, and I nodded as sweat rolled down my head.
Yeah.…
This fight is going to be so much more ridiculous compared to before.
