49. Black and White Origins (part 2)

From afar, a pair of wind arrows and a long range water bullet flew very quickly towards the giant monster, and once again he just lifted his hands to cover himself. Our attacks couldn't pierce through his defenses, which confuses me as to how we can deal damage to him.

The headmaster tried countering by swinging his left hand forward, releasing a massive wave of light energy slash towards us. Jonah stepped forward to create three layers of earth walls in front of us, but the walls were destroyed within a second. In the end, we were forced to dodge.

"Damn it… My earth origin can't block it!" Jonah shouted out loud to tell everyone that his defense technique is flawed.

"That's fine. Just dodge it. It's not like his techniques are that fast." Lily gave the suggestion, and I can't help but agree.

While it is true that his defenses got a lot tougher, his speed decreased massively. Previously, when he was still in normal humane form, his speed was very fast to the point it nearly matched Eric's. Now, he can't even dodge a simple fireball from me.

This just comes down to a battle of firepower. Who can deal the most damage against each other wins.

"This way of fighting is utterly pathetic." From afar, Eric said as he unleashed his lightning strike, and a bright dark flash of lightning flew past the battlefield towards the headmaster.

It was lightning, but it was also rather slow. However, as it traverses in the air, everyone can notice just how deadly the black lightning strike was. And the moment it arrives on the headmaster, we all can see the result right away.

BAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eric's black flash landed right on the headmaster's chest, and it exploded powerfully.

"AAAARRGGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Behind the smoke, we all heard the headmaster shout from the pain. 

I realized what just happened and decided to use this chance. I dashed forward before the smoke even dissipated, and everyone noticed what I'm doing.

"W-Wait, Nathan!!" From behind, Jonah tried to stop me, but I'm already at my fastest speed forward.

I arrived right in front of the smoke that covered the headmaster very quickly. However, I wasn't expecting something to come out to greet me instead.

JREEBBB!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Ghahkk!!!!---"

Very suddenly, three long blades made of darkness origin appeared from the smoke and stabbed me on the chest. The three blades were long and sturdy, and it made no effort in stabbing me.

D-Damn… this guy even saw me coming, huh?

"Utterly embarrassing for you to rush in like that…" The voice behind the smoke said to me coldly, and the headmaster's ugly grin appeared from behind the smoke.

Everyone watched in shock as my body got lifted from the ground by the three black blades coming out of the headmaster's right hand. Blood spurted out a lot from the wound on my chest, and my hands tried freeing my body from the blades.

However, it was no luck, and the giant monster is already charging up a powerful light blast on his right hand.

"It's a pity that this is all you are capable of, Son of Fae. I was expecting a lot more from you." The headmaster said to me as he turned the light blast to my face, and I knew right away that I can never survive such a thing.

Of course, I can only grin at his choice of words.

"Funny… I was about to say the same thing to you!" I said while holding back the pain, and the headmaster only turned confused.

BARRR!!!!!!!!

A black and white lightning strike suddenly arrived right behind the headmaster, and he reacted by quickly turning the light blast to Eric. It was a very nice reaction from him, but his speed was already horrendously falling behind Eric's speed, so it didn't matter.

Do it, Eric.

"You always trouble me with all the annoying things, prince." Eric said as he powerfully swung his sword to the giant's body, and the blade arrived effortlessly.

BLAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eric's sword slash was enhanced with his black lightning origin, which resulted in a much more damaging strike. And since he did it up close, it will naturally be a lot more powerful than from a range. 

The result is more or less like what we expected.

"GUHHKK---!!!!!" Headmaster Zero jumped backwards from the sudden emergence of pain, and a long red slash can be found starting from his right shoulder to his left abdomen.

Nice slash, Eric. However, it's still not done yet.

The black blades that were stabbing me disappeared, and I was released from the stab. My body was covered in a bright white flaming aura the moment my feet landed on the ground.

"You good?" Eric asked right next to me, but I only turned around to face the others.

"Together, all at once!! Unleash everything!!" I shouted to Jonah, Lily, and Nyssa who were behind us, and the three quickly realized what this cue means.

'Give it your all.'

Lily and Nyssa quickly started charging their strongest techniques, and I can see Jonah rushing forward to assist us. I turned to Eric next to me and realized he is thinking the same thing.

BAARRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!

Eric launched a quick lightning blast at the headmaster, but since it was just a simple lightning, it did not deal a ton of damage. However, it was necessary to stun the headmaster for a split second.

BOOOOMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!

The next moment, a fireball landed right at the headmaster's feet. The blast was a lot more powerful than Eric's lightning blast, which resulted in the headmaster being thrown back slightly.

"This little--"

BAAARRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eric followed up with another black lightning strike, which packed more punch than my fireball. It threw the headmaster flying completely, and Jonah quickly saw this chance.

With the headmaster in the air, Jonah opened the ground to create a giant two meters deep hole underneath right where the headmaster is going to fall. He also made the ground of the hole to be sandy, so when the headmaster fell into it, he would get instantly deepened inside the hole.

As Jonah wanted, the headmaster fell into the hole totally incapable of crawling back out. The sand captured the headmaster completely, and no matter how strong he is, it will take him time to fully release himself.

"ENOUGH!!!!" Headmaster Zero quickly released a powerful shockwave using light origin to destroy the hole, which he is successful in. The hole was destroyed, forming a crater with him at the very center of it.

However, the hole did exactly what we wanted, which is to occupy the headmaster for longer than two seconds.

"I can't agree more!!" From above, a giant ball of fire can be found flying above the crater where the headmaster is.

Seeing me flying in the air with the giant fireball, the giant quickly lifted both his hands to cast a light origin blast towards me. However, a lightning zap once again arrived right behind him.

BZZTT!!!!

BZZZTTTT!!!!!!!

In a split of a second, the headmaster's ankle was sliced by a very sharp black lightning technique. The headmaster turned kneeling on the ground very quickly, and he turned his annoyed glare behind him.

"You should really watch your back when fighting." Eric said coldly as he placed the ball of black lightning energy on the ground behind the headmaster. 

It was his favorite technique that can very easily shatter a thick wall of titanium, to be placed right behind the headmaster's butt.

BZZZTTT!!!!!!

Eric disappeared the very next second, and by the time the headmaster turned his gaze back to me, multiple origin techniques were already right in front of him.

A powerful wind arrow made by the one and only Nyssa.

The famously known condensed water dragon technique that is iconic from the Valkarian empire.

A gigantic fireball that is quite possibly the strongest that has ever been casted in the continent.

Finally, the black sphere of lightning energy that is about to explode right behind him.

The headmaster's eyes can only grow wider as he realizes his state. Not only are these attacks a lot more powerful than what he experienced before, but they were also coordinated and thought out so perfectly. The techniques by themselves were wonderful, but it was even more shocking to see that these godly abilities are used in such a coordinated play.

Seeing the wonderful teamwork and the great effort to take him down, the headmaster can only smile proudly from such a wonderful display of origin usage.

"How can I even win---?"

BOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The combined origin techniques once again exploded massively and obliterated everything nearby. The world shook heavily from the powerful blast, and everyone present at the desert could feel its power even from afar.

The shockwave even reached the crash site where multiple Steelbirds were previously destroyed. Seeing the cloud of black smoke reaching the skies, the soldiers under the crown princess of Valkaria can only watch and wonder as to what could cause such a large explosion.

The princess of Valkaria herself, who was watching the blast from behind a fallen Steelbird, can only turn in awe at the power behind it.

Meanwhile, the battle at the explosion site was halted completely. With the enemy being nowhere to be found, the five of us grouped up in a location that is quite far away from the blast radius.

And as usual, Nyssa created a wind shield to protect us from the dust storm caused by the explosion.

"Auchie… can't you move my arm nicely?" I said in concern to Lily who is taking care of the wound on my right hand, and she only let out a sigh before pinching the open wound.

"WOOOIIIIII------"

"Stop complaining. It's already disgusting for me to be anywhere near open wounds like this." Lily said coldly, despite knowing she just pinched an open meat that is on my right arm.

Everyone else was also quite hurt from the blast just now, but Lily has already healed them before me. Her water origin does come in handy to heal little wounds like these, so we all thanked Lily for her effort in healing us.

Of course, I had to complain a little because she was slightly rougher when it comes to healing me.

"Why can't you just heal yourself, anyway? I thought you have an origin that can heal." Jonah asked to defend Lily, and Lily's gaze showed me that she agrees with everything that came out of Jonah's mouth.

"L-Look… I put everything in that fireball just now. I can't even lift a finger!"

"You say that while waving your hand around. Stop moving." Lily said before slapping the wound on my arm, and that successfully sends a massive wave of pain onto my head.

"D-Don't do that! What is wrong with you!?--"

"Smoke's clearing. I'll go check it out." Eric said quickly after he noticed the dust storm was disappearing, and we all remembered about the enemy we fought just now.

Behind all of these smokes… is the monster that has tanked all of our strongest attacks combined.

Is he… still alive?
