Dinner time

With the welcome interruption of both Misty and Andrew's hunger, the tension of all the planning and discoveries seemed to have subsided for the time being.

Hearing Andrew's stomach rumble made the whole group break into small smiles, leading Matt to speak up.

"Let's take a break," Matt suggested. "We've been at this all day."

Sarah nodded gratefully. "Yeah, I could use a breather."

Matt stood up and walked over to the kitchen. "How about I make us some dinner? I'm not a gourmet chef, but I can whip up something decent."

Claire, who had been quietly observing, chuckled softly. "He's being modest; he's probably the best cook I know. You guys are in for a treat." She paused before adding, "I'll get the guest rooms ready for you all to rest tonight. Matt can handle the cooking, but if anyone feels like lending a hand, the kitchen's open."

Andrew, always one to lighten the mood, raised an eyebrow. "You mean, I get to be the sous-chef?"
