Eva had been trying not to neglect her friends Daniel and Ruth since the last time, she has been trying to always meet up with them, today they will be meeting at their usual spot by the lake. Before she left, she hurriedly finished her household chores, her grandmother watching her with a keen eye.
"Eva, don't forget to sweep the porch!" her grandmother called out as Eva was rushing out the door.
Eva turned back and quickly swept the porch, her grandmother nodding in approval. "Good girl," she said. "Now come give me a hug before you go."
Eva hugged her grandmother tightly, feeling a surge of love and gratitude. "Thanks, Grandma," she said. "I'll see you later."
Her grandmother patted her back and said, " don't be late ok. Have fun with Ur friend and be careful ". Eva nodding and heading out
As Eva walked away, her grandmother looked up to the sky and said, "Thank you, God, for giving me such a wonderful granddaughter. Please continue to guide and protect her, and may she always be a shining example of your love."
As she walked towards the lake, she couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions. She was excited to see her friends, she had a lot to discuss with them. Mostly about what's happening in her school
When she arrived at the lake, Daniel and Ruth were already there, lounging in the sun. They smiled and waved as Eva approached, and she felt a surge of happiness at the sight of her friends.
"Hey guys, sorry I'm late," Eva said, dropping her bag on the ground. "I had to finish some chores before I could come."
"No worries, we're just glad you're here," Ruth said, standing up to hug Eva.
Eva couldn't help but notice the way Daniel looked at her. He seemed more intense than usual, his eyes lingering on her face and body. She felt a flutter in her chest, but pushed the feeling aside. Daniel was just being his usual protective self, she thought.
The three friends spent the next hour catching up and laughing together. Eva told them about her new school and her classes, and Daniel and Ruth filled her in on their own news.
But when Eva mentioned Lucas, Daniel's expression changed. He looked jealous and possessive, and Eva felt a pang of discomfort.
"What's wrong, Daniel?" Eva asked, noticing the change in his demeanor.
"Nothing, I'm just... concerned," Daniel said, his voice tight. "I don't want you getting hurt, Eva you need to be careful around all these boys."Eva rolled her eyes. "I can take care of myself, Daniel," she said. "Besides, Lucas is a great guy. He's kind and thoughtful, and he is my friend ."
Ruth looked at Daniel curiously. "What's going on, Daniel?" she asked. "You're acting weird."
Daniel shrugged. "I just don't want Eva to get hurt, that's all."
Eva sighed. "I appreciate your concern, Daniel, but I can handle myself. Let's just enjoy the day, okay?"Daniel nodded, but Eva could tell he was still upset. She decided to try and lighten the mood.
"Hey, let's go for a swim!" Eva said, standing up and pulling off her shoes. Eva stripped off her shorts and tank top, revealing her swimsuit underneath. Daniel's eyes widened slightly, and Ruth raised an eyebrow.
"Wow, Eva, you look amazing!" Ruth said, whistling.Eva blushed and laughed, feeling a bit self-conscious. "Thanks, guys," she said. "I've been trying to get some sun this summer."
Ruth and Daniel followed her into the water, and they spent the next hour splashing and playing together. Eva tried to push her concerns about Daniel's behavior aside and just enjoy the day with her friends.
But as they were getting out of the water, Daniel suddenly pushed Eva back in, laughing. Eva spluttered and surfaced, laughing and playfully splashing water at Daniel.
Ruth joined in, and the three friends spent the rest of the afternoon playing and laughing together. Eva tried to forget about her concerns and just enjoy the day with her friends. But she couldn't shake the feeling that something was off with Daniel
Daniel couldn't shake off the feeling of jealousy that had been brewing inside him since Eva mentioned Lucas at the lake. He had been harboring feelings for Eva for a long time, but had been too afraid to confess, fearing rejection and ruining their friendship. Now, with Lucas in the picture, Daniel felt a sense of urgency to express his feelings to Eva before it was too late.
He made his way to Eva's house, his heart racing with anticipation. As he walked up the path, he noticed Eva's grandmother sitting on the porch, watching him with a keen eye.
"Hello, Daniel," she said, her voice warm but discerning. "What brings you here today?"
Daniel hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. "I just wanted to check in on Eva, ma'am," he said finally.
The grandmother nodded, her eyes narrowing slightly. "Eva's inside. Go on in."
Daniel took a deep breath and knocked on the door When Eva answered the door, she looked surprised to see him again so soon. "Hey, what brings you here?" she asked, noticing the peculiar look on Daniel's face.
Daniel's heart skipped a beat as he looked at her. He had always loved her smile, her laugh, her sparkling eyes. But now, he felt a sense of desperation, a fear that he might lose her to someone else.
Daniel's voice trembled as he tried to speak. "I-I just wanted to tell you something," he stuttered.Eva's expression turned concerned. "What is it, Daniel? You're acting strange."He wanted to tell her how he felt, but the words stuck in his throat
Daniel's eyes darted around, unable to meet Eva's gaze. "I-I just wanted to check if you got home safely," he mumbled, his excuse sounding weak even to himself.
Eva's confusion was evident. "Uh, yeah, I'm fine. Thanks for checking in."
Daniel nodded hastily and turned to leave, almost tripping over his own feet in his hurry. "I'll see you later, Eva," he called out, not waiting for a response.
Eva watched him go, her mind racing with questions. She settled into her couch, her mind racing with thoughts of Daniel's strange behavior. First, he had been acting weird at the lake, and now he showed up at her house, stumbling over his words and unable to meet her eye. What was going on with him?
She thought back to their friendship, how they had always been so comfortable with each other. But now, Daniel seemed like a different person, distant and nervous.
As she pondered the mystery, her eyelids began to droop, and she felt herself drifting off to sleep. She tried to fight it, but her body betrayed her, and she succumbed to the exhaustion.
As she got ready for school, Eva couldn't shake off the thoughts of Daniel and their awkward encounter the day before. She wondered if he was okay and if he would ever be able to open up to her about what was bothering him.
She sighed and pushed the thoughts aside, focusing on getting ready for the day ahead. She brushed her hair, applied a light layer of makeup, and put on a fresh outfit.
As she headed downstairs, she noticed her breakfast on the dinner table. Her grandmother made her breakfast before leaving. What would she have done without her. She ate her breakfast and left for school.
