Chapter 29: Becoming a Disciple

Ye Shoulin had just placed his hand on the man's wrist to take his pulse when, the next second, he withdrew it.

He seemed on the verge of speaking, but upon seeing the concerned expressions on the faces of the group around him, he quickly swallowed his words.

Reaching to his waist, he pulled out a roll of cloth. Unfurling the cloth revealed a densely packed array of silver needles of varying thicknesses, which appeared quite intimidating.

He selected a few silver needles and inserted them into the man's abdomen in different places, finally piercing three into his head.

After Ye Shoulin let go, the man's vacant eyes suddenly widened, feeling a surge of energy roaming inside his body, unable to find an outlet.

The sensation grew stronger, and the man sat up abruptly, vomiting a mouthful of blood.

This scared the living daylights out of his family members, who pushed Ye Shoulin away and rushed to rub the man's back.

"My heavens, why is he vomiting blood?"
