Chapter 7: A Daughter Who Only Causes Trouble

What's happened?

Gu Jinjin was anxious.

"Gu Linhan, look at Yu Xi, she's just a girl, and you've scared her so much she's about to throw up."

Yu Xi's complexion wasn't great, and most importantly, she remembered that pregnant women often suffer from morning sickness as depicted in TV dramas.

Damn, if someone saw her vomiting and discovered something, how could she ever face this group of young masters again?

Yu Xi moved her eyes and said directly, "I'm not feeling well, I'll go home first. You guys go ahead and celebrate the birthday."

Then she pushed Gu Linhan away.

Gu Linhan's face slightly changed as he caught a glimpse of her off-color. He grabbed her wrist, "Yu Xi, you..."

In her panic, Yu Xi raised her hand and slapped his face hard, "Bastard, stay away from me."

After speaking, she ran past several friends and out the door...

Gu Linhan stood there, his chestnut pupils flashing with a hint of light, as if he had thought of something. He picked up his clothes and headed outside.

Upon seeing this, Gu Jinjin thought, Yu Xi actually hit him for real, and she worried that if Master Gu chased after her and they really started fighting, she quickly grabbed him and said, "Gu Linhan, it's alright, Yu Xi is in a bad mood today, don't you know her temper? Don't lower yourself to her level."

Gu Linhan frowned and looked outside, pushing away Gu Jinjin's hand, determined to follow...

Now, the group of friends stood there feeling gloomy.

Gu Jinjin turned back to He Ziming, "Hey, go manage them. He's not really going to start hitting Yu Xi, is he?"

He Ziming, speechless, spread his hands, "Enough, if those two really start fighting, it's not certain who would lose. Yu Xi the troublemaker, they've fought before anyway."

"That was when they were kids, is it the same now?" Gu Jinjin looked over at Lei Ting, "I told you earlier, don't bring the two of them together, see what happened."

Lei Ting scratched his head, "I didn't know they would be so hot-tempered today."

The others were still shocked, Lei Ting quickly smiled and looked around, acting as if it was normal, "Alright, alright, you'll get used to it, it's just friends messing around, just friends messing around."

"..."

They were about to start fighting, and he still called it friends messing around.

...

Yu Xi climbed over the wall and entered, patting off the dust on her hands, and when she looked up, she saw a sneering face.

"Yu Xi, you are such a grown-up and still climbing over walls, you really should learn better."

"..."

It was her mother, Su Heng.

Yu Xi behaved for a moment, "Mom."

Su Heng glared at her fiercely.

"I told you to come home early because I had something to tell you, but you didn't answer your phone all day. You just got back, and now you want to make me angry, don't you?"

Su Heng thought, if not for the need to cajole Yu Xi, she wouldn't have waited here for her until this late.

Back then, she gave birth to Yu Xi, and after raising her for a couple of years, she got pregnant again and had her younger sister, Xiao Yu Tian.

So Yu Xi didn't receive much motherly love for long as her mother's attention shifted to Xiao Yu Tian. Because she had to look after Xiao Yu Tian, Yu Xi started living with her grandmother from the age of two. By two, she learned to feed herself, watching her younger sister be spoon-fed by their mother until she was eight. During those years, Su Heng's entire focus was on her second child, largely ignoring Yu Xi, the elder.

To say the least, it's impossible for a parent to not have a favorite when having two children, and favoring the younger one is common.

Feeling that the elder one was old enough to not need constant supervision and could help take care of the younger one, she doted on the younger child excessively. She cared for her personally, unlike Yu Xi, who was raised by the grandmother. Somehow, she felt that the younger one seemed more like her own daughter.

Su Heng glanced at Yu Xi's attire with even more disdain, "How old are you, still aping others by climbing walls, where is there a hint of a Yu Family heiress in you?"
