Lan Lili and Feng Xin stepped out of the classroom and stood at the door, where students from other classes poked their heads out to look. Ashamed, the two lowered their heads and cursed Qin Qin under their breath.
They couldn't understand. Their plan had been so well laid out; how was it possible that Qin Qin hadn't fallen for it?! Where had it gone wrong!
If Qin Qin knew what they were thinking, perhaps she would tell them the answer.
In the classroom, Lee Xing let everyone study by themselves during the class, while he himself left to change his clothes.
Some students whispered to each other in dismay, eyes occasionally glancing in Qin Qin's direction, only to see that she seemed indifferent to the situation, quickly flipping through her textbook with her head down.
"Hey, how come Qin Qin is so calm today, and can she really understand anything when she's reading so fast?"
"Who knows? Maybe she's just putting on an act."
"Hey, hey, have you noticed that there's something off about Qin Qin today?"
"Yeah, she seemed paler when she came in, and her skin, you can't even see the pores—so delicate and soft. Makes you want to touch it."
"Hey, you're right. I hadn't noticed. She couldn't have had plastic surgery, could she?"
"How could she? Plastic surgery wouldn't be that quick!"
Qin Qin ignored the pointed comments from around her, instead immersed in the sea of books. In her past life, she was not only an extraordinary medic but also dabbled in music, chess, calligraphy, and painting, known as a gifted lady pursued by countless talented men, nobles, and princes, particularly...
What was she thinking about? That was all in her past life. In this life, she was Qin Qin, an ordinary and simple country girl.
"Bang, bang, bang"
Someone banged heavily on the desk in front of Qin Qin. Her head, previously bowed, flashed with a chilling darkness as she closed her book and looked up.
Standing before Qin Qin were none other than Lan Lili and Feng Xin, who had been punished to stand outside. With mockery and disdain on their faces, they glared at Qin Qin.
These two were the very same who had bullied Qin Qin and caused her hospitalization and eventual death.
Their families being relatively affluent in Peng County, coupled with Lan Lili's father being the head of a village, made the two of them act unbridled in the school. Those whom they disliked typically met with poor fates, especially Qin Qin, whose family was extremely poor. To the two "Heavenly Proud Girls," sharing a class with Qin Qin was an insult. Hence, Lan Lili and Feng Xin would take any opportunity to bully Qin Qin over trivial matters. The incident with the lime happened because the old Qin Qin had secretly liked their class' most attractive boy, Lee Jiaqi, who was also liked by Lan Lili. When she found out, Lan Lili cornered Qin Qin by the newly built school dormitories after class, resulting in that tragic event.
"Qin Qin, you actually dare to come to school. Have you forgotten the last lesson we taught you?" Lan Lili raised her head proudly, staring at Qin Qin. In her eyes, Qin Qin was nothing but an ant, easily dealt with, just like the time she and Feng Xin bullied Qin Qin without consequence.
"Yeah, Qin Qin, you really have a thick face. Is this school a place for someone like you? People like you just pollute everyone's sight." Feng Xin sneered disdainfully, eliciting low chuckles from the students watching around.
Amid the piercing mockery surrounding her, Qin Qin's eyes swept the area with an indifferent and chilling gaze.
Feeling the sweep of Qin Qin's icy stare, a group of onlookers inexplicably stepped back.
"Weird. Have you noticed that there's something strange about Qin Qin today? She hasn't said a word since she came into the classroom."
"Her gaze is terrifying today, scarier than my dad when he's angry at me."
"Could Qin Qin be possessed by a ghost these days?"
"What are you talking about? That's scary."
Everyone was abuzz with speculation while Qin Qin faced Lan Lili.
Feng Xin took a step back, then inwardly despised herself for being frightened by the look in the eyes of Qin Qin, whom she considered a nobody.
"What are you looking at? Got eyes bigger than your face?" Lan Lili swallowed dryly, resisting the chill welling up inside her. Since when had this nobody been so intimidating?
"A lesson?!" Qin Qin marched towards the two, and Lan Lili instinctively backed away two steps. Realizing her own reaction, she angrily tried to push Qin Qin, but before she could even touch Qin Qin, her hand was already grasped by Qin Qin.
"Ah, it hurts! Damn you, poor trash, let go of me!" Lan Lili felt a searing pain in her hand as if it were about to break.
Qin Qin paid no attention to Lan Lili's wails, releasing her hand quickly—not because Lan Lili had commanded her to, but because Qin Qin found her repulsive.
"Dirty! Do me a favor and keep your distance from me in the future." Having said that, Qin Qin was about to head to her seat.
"Damn you, Qin Qin, you stop right there," Lan Lili roared, grabbing Qin Qin's wrist, only to be effortlessly flicked away by Qin Qin. Lan Lili was sent sprawling towards a desk, and Feng Xin, unable to dodge, fell to the ground with her.
Both of them lay on the ground, letting out pitiful howls that shocked the surrounding students.
"My God, did you see that? Qin Qin... seems to have showed her power?"
"This is bad, she actually dared to provoke Lan Lili and the others. Wasn't the last lesson enough for her?"
"Who cares, we've got a good show to watch now."
Quickly standing up from the ground, Lan Lili pointed at Qin Qin, "I won't let you off, after school, meet at the new dorm, and if you don't show up, I have ways to teach you a lesson."
Qin Qin stared at Lan Lili's pointing finger, lifting the corner of her lips, "Your hand is very impolite."
"What? After all this, how is Qin Qin not getting it?"
"So weird, isn't it?"
Feng Xin glared at Qin Qin, "Qin Qin, don't get smug, you'll get yours after school."
Under Qin Qin's indifferent gaze, Lan Lili withdrew her finger, huffed coldly, and turned to run out of the classroom. Feng Xin called out and followed her out.
Once the two ran out of the classroom, Qin Qin turned to head toward her seat but couldn't bear being near the trash, so she looked around.
A crowd of people were all around, and when Qin Qin looked their way, they scattered, pretending to be busy with their own matters.
Ma Yan was sitting at the window in the back row, who had also been watching the commotion. When she saw Qin Qin look over, she returned to her seat.
Just as Ma Yan pretended to pick up a book and start reading, she heard footsteps halt near her. Lifting her head, she discovered Qin Qin standing beside her, with many people looking their way.
"What... what do you want?"
Ma Yan's voice was hesitant and somewhat disbelieving.
"Stand up!"
"Wha... what?" Ma Yan's eyes widened in disbelief at what she had heard.
"I'm taking this seat!"
As Qin Qin's words fell, the surroundings buzzed with activity again.
"Did you guys hear what she just said?"
"My God, what is Qin Qin doing? She actually told Ma Yan to stand up, she took that seat."
"I must have heard wrong, it must be a dream, only in a dream would I see such unbelievable things."
