Chapter 284 The Beginning of the Patent War_3

As a particular term, "patent war" refers to the most direct and violent method of struggle between corporations within the Federation over certain irreconcilable conflicts. It is not recognized by federal law, but no one denies its occurrence.

While a sound legal system can resolve many conflicts, it does not always restrain large corporations effectively. In cases where the facts are clear, perhaps the Federal Supreme Court of Judgment can issue a ruling. However, for those cases that are unclear and muddled, it becomes a quagmire with no end in sight. These corporations have ample funds to endlessly hire lawyers and professional groups for litigation and debate. Neither side will back down, potentially dragging the case out for decades or even a century.

Such protracted stalemates are unacceptable for some large corporations. Since the law cannot provide a solution, they must resort to means in the grey area. This is the "patent war."
