Chapter 44 I have fully understood!

Karlo awoke from her dream.

The light outside the window was dim. Relying on her biological clock, she guessed there were about ten minutes left before curfew ended and daylight would come. She got out of bed quietly and was about to go to the window to check the time when Cherie, who was lying beside her, shifted slightly and opened her eyes, "Karlo."

Karlo's movements halted, "Did I wake you?"

"Not really." Cherie yawned and rested her hand on Karlo's. Karlo flipped her wrist and took her sister's hand in hers, squeezing it into her palm. Her hand was somewhat rough, calloused from years of training, fingertips and palms alike, unlike Cherie's. Her sister's hand was cool, soft.

Cherie rolled over to her side, observing Karlo's expression, "Are you worried about something?"

Karlo thought for a moment, "I dreamed of that existence again."

"...Light?"

Cherie sat up on the bed, "What's wrong? Did that... say something to you in the dream?"
