At 9:40, nearing curfew, Lady Roland had just announced the conclusion of the meeting, and many Transcendents immediately began to hurry away, rapidly thinning the crowd in the room. The man sitting not far from Cherie turned his head to glance at her, nodded slightly, and then waved his hand, probably signaling for Cherie to follow him.
Just as Cherie was about to rise, she saw Lady Roland gracefully approaching her.
Cherie stopped in her tracks, respectfully saying, "Madam."
"Hmm," came the enchanting hum from Roland's nose, her gaze playful as she said, "This is your first time attending our Mutual Aid Club, how do you find it?"
"The feeling... um... is quite good," Cherie carefully chose her words: "I've learned a lot. Next time, I would like to bring my sister to see."
