Chapter 115: Understanding Sister (For Real)

My life is already over...

Clara lay in darkness, her mind filled with such thoughts, feeling devoid of all interest in life. The spark of life seemed to be extinguishing bit by bit within her body, and a quiet sense of despair and powerlessness was growing in her heart.

She didn't want to do anything, she couldn't even muster the energy to commit suicide—not that it would matter since the demon would surely stop her if she tried.

She lay motionless, naked and yet unable to even feel shame.

Time passed, and suddenly, in the darkness, a crimson eye opened.

The demon had returned.

Was it here to amuse itself with her?

Clara let out a wry, miserable chuckle and simply closed her eyes.

"You can go now,"

the demon said such a thing.

The voice drifted into her ears, and Clara was taken aback for a moment, taking several seconds to grasp what was being said. But she didn't react, only managing a weak laugh.

It's a lie.

"Don't you trust me?"
