A cute little girl with her short legs outstretched was running wildly in the garden when suddenly she heard a voice calling distantly: "Gingerbread! Don't run around."


The little girl immediately cried out with joy: "Mommy!"


She ran towards the voice and soon saw Anne, dressed in finery, leap forward and plunge into Anne's embrace.


Anne hugged her daughter with a happy smile on her face. She and Charles had been married for several years, and the family lived in Mecklenburg. Gingerbread was their first daughter with him, and thus was very much adored.


Well, usually Gingerbread's brothers and sisters would be around her, which gave the little girl a confused "illusion" about the world—that the Evil Gods are all so cute.


Ah, but here the Evil Gods aren't her brothers and sisters; they are little toys given to her by her siblings.


Gingerbread rubbed her little face against her mother's chest and asked, "When will Daddy come back?"
