Breakfast was over.
Du Wei thus bid farewell to Alex, taking a limousine alone to the airport.
The driver of the car was his cousin, Frobin.
Alex watched the taillights fade away in the rain.
She stood there with an umbrella for a long time.
The drizzle had turned into a downpour.
After a good while,
Alex took out her cellphone and called the church, directing the call to Archbishop Skadi.
The Wittebach family, or rather Lawrence, Du Wei's father-in-law, had not been stingy with donations to the church before.
They maintained that sort of relationship.
Soon,
the call connected.
Alex said in a deep voice, "I heard from Du Wei that you were preparing a plan to eradicate the Evil Spirit, and you needed him to discuss it with you, right?"
Archbishop Skadi replied on the other end, "Yes, Miss Alex, it is a decision made amongst the hunters; I'm not very clear on the specifics, but Lord Du Wei is indeed one of the decision-makers in the plan."
