The next day, Adeline knocked on Roger's door bright and early.
"Dear, today is your first day of school," she said, handing Roger a new set of clothes.
"Dress sharp, the girls at Baytown High are sure to be charmed by you."
With those words, she patted Roger on the shoulder and gave him an encouraging look.
Roger feigned excitement on the surface, but deep down, he wasn't at all enthusiastic about going to school; he would rather spend the time strengthening his physique.
Yet, seeing the hopeful look in Adeline's eyes, he could only helplessly nod his head. After all, it wasn't quite right to always stay at home alone while living there.
Going to school would be a good opportunity to systematically understand the country's culture and history, and to acquire some useful knowledge along the way.
Adeline had taken the day off on purpose, and after breakfast, she drove Roger directly to Baytown High.
