Chapter 81: A Guilty Conscience

Zhang Xiaowei urged with a cry, pulling Tan Xiaoli along with him.

With her heart in her throat, Tan Xiaoli let out a faint gasp and sat down.

"Xiaowei, I'm still afraid someone might come, why don't we wait until the evening to continue?"

By then, the train had already left the station, and to stop would require waiting for the next one.

"Xiaoli, if you're not at ease, just keep an eye on the window."

After giving her this instruction, Zhang Xiaowei could no longer afford to pay her any attention.

Anxious Tan Xiaoli bit her lip, her eyes restlessly scanning the window, terrified of someone barging in suddenly.

But soon, her gaze became erratic and unfocused.

Even though her brain was loudly reminding her that someone could enter at any moment.

Her eyes, however, were no longer under her control, constantly drifting up and down.

The remnants of the sun on the wall outside slowly dimmed.

The last trace of twilight finally gave way to nightfall.
