Ronan took a deep breath, looking at Benjamin and then at Evelyn. "Fine," he finally said, though half-heartedly. He wasn't fully agreeing to it, and looking at Gracia, he added, "We'll hand her over to the authorities. But the court's decision would be what I had planned for her earlier."
Evelyn sighed in relief, a weight lifting off her shoulders. If Sophia could buy a judge and wrap up Annabelle's case, she felt it wasn't anything wrong. Maybe it would also be possible if they convinced the judge, though it sounded ridiculous.
Gracia smiled at Ronan. "Thank you," she said, her heart feeling lighter and more at ease.
Rosalind was also happy with the outcome. She had been skeptical of using the mafia to get Sophia when they could have gone through the right legal ways. But Zevian convinced her to trust his friend Damien, who wouldn't bring dirt on their family with this issue. Her worry had been gnawing at her, but now she felt a sense of relief.
