Darren had no idea if he even could build them a house but previously the system had indicated that it would automatically provide the infrastructure needed to run the place while all he need to do was progress his cultivation. It had explained that many cultivators did not have the time to run and micromanage their domain of providence so instead they would hire workers and take in deciples to fill those specialties.
The system in his case would act as a one man workforce for the land and the inhabitants which was intended for only cultivators, would be able to leisurely focus on progressing themselves. All this was why Darren was confident he could get the system to build them a house. All he needed to do was recognize them as his workers and they would be granted certain privileges in his domain.
[ Would you like to Initiate the Integration of 'Dan Jones', ' Sharrol Jones' and ,' Miranda Jones'?]
"Yes" Darren said aloud which granted a weird look from Dan and Sharrol but they didn't ask.
[Finding suitable sub-classes and assigning...]
[Please wait...]
Darren was surprised by this message and decided to speak up.
" Seems like the system is giving you all sub classes related to this farm so you should see a change to your status here in a sec."
" Wait I thought you were just going to give us a house and that was it! What is all thi-"
Darren didn't hear the last few words of Sharrol as his attention was grabbed back to his screen.
[Congratulations! A new aspect of the system has been unlocked!]
[Worker Panel Unlocked!]
Darren curiously opened the panel still not listening to what Sharrol was yapping about.
[Farm Workers: 3]
[Departments: Hunting Department, Animal Research Department]
[Select for further details: Dan Jones, Sharrol Jones, Miranda Jones]
Darren was very surprised with the departments as this was a farm and both of those seemed to have nothing to do with farming.
' Maybe looking at their sub-classes it would make more sense.' Darren thought as he first started with Dan and moved on to the other two and positioning them side by side in front of his vision.
[Name: Dan Jones]
[Cultivation: 0]
[Class: none]
[Sub-Class: Axe Warrior]
[Daos: Wind]
[Bloodline: none]
---------------------------
[Name: Sharrol Jones]
[Cultivation: 0]
[Class: none]
[Sub-Class: Archer]
[Daos: Fire]
[Bloodline: none]
------------------------------
[Name: Miranda Jones]
[Cultivation: 0]
[Class: none]
[Sub-Class: Beast Tamer]
[Daos: Fire, Wind]
[Bloodline: none]
Darren now understood where his two departments came from. They system must have evaluated their soul or some other aspect and decided that both Dan and Sharrol would be better suited as combatants while Miranda more suited at Beast Taming. Darren was curious as to what would come of this sub-class in the future.
Darren didn't get any further notifications at this time and looked over to Dan, Sharrol and Miranda, who had all clearly gotten new system messages and were reading them over now judging from their blank expression at the ground five feet ahead of them.
Dan informed Darren that he had gotten the update to his status and was then instructed to find a suitable place for the system to place their house. Dan walked over next to the animal shelters and indicated to the system to build it there. In an instant an manor just like the one that used to be where Darren cottage now stood was conjured.
The only noticeable difference to Darren was there was a rectangular area of about 300 square meters enclosed by a 10ft tall brick wall. Looking at the map, Darren understood that inside the area was a training area for Dan and Sharrol equipped with target dummies, targets for archery and a large storage closet filled to the brim with bows arrows and other malay weapons.
To the right of the training zone, there was a large field with various plants growing throughout. In the center of the field stood a circular stone fountain with the engraved letters ' J O N E S' stamped across the base. Darren presumed that this was the area for Miranda to train or research various spirit animals and it would change based on her needs. However this was good enough for now since she was eight and only owned a spirit puppy.
After leaving to let them get settled in and to let Sharrol cool her temper, Darren decided to visit his chickens and turtles since he hadn't since the day he received them. Looking at the hen house, Darren wondered if there were any laid eggs or even better if any of them were fertile. The system rang and a screen popped up in front of Darren.
[Egg Collection Initiated! 15 eggs collected!]
[Number of Fertile Eggs: 1]
Darren was pleased to hear this and quickly left to check the turtle habitat. He knew that it was very unlikely that any of the turtles would have laid eggs but that was not what Darren was curious about.
[Name: Spirit Turtle]
[Gender: Male]
[Rank: 2]
[Growth: Adolescence]
[Bloodline: Reptilian Monarch (0.1%)]
Darren had inspected his only male Spirit Turtle immediately as he had instantly noticed the changes. It's shell was a deep blue color and when looking into it's eyes, which were the same deep blue, an unexplanatory predatory fear took over his heart. Luckily, this feeling passed in an instant and it left Darren wondering how powerful this Reptilian Monarch was to be able to give that feeling at only 0.1% of it's full strength.
Darren was ecstatic at the inspection and decided to name the turtle then and there and keep it as his personal pet. " You shall be now known as Turshel and the proud ruler of the spirit turtle colony." Darren decided to be humble and Cordel as he had a feeling that this turtle's intelligence was not far from a human's after breaking through to rank 2. After making the statement he felt a sudden low vibration in his body and then a voice in his head.
'Hello human. What should I call you then?' Darren was initially shocked but then tried to message back through his thoughts.
' I am called Darren and I am the ruler of this land.' The turtle craned it's neck to look at Darren then nodded while simultaneously giving a mental nudge of understanding.
' I am honored by your bestowed title and will do my best to lead my turtle kin to prosperity under your reign.' Darren heard the voice again and smiled in approval.
' I will take my leave then; and please do let me know if you need anything.' Darren thought while walking over to his cottage.
Opening the door Darren grabbed the Spirit Watering can that he had purchased from the system and got to work watering all his crops. After he was finished, he got another notification from the system.
[18 Unidentified Sentient being detected in your Area of Influence!]
[Exile them.]
[Ignore them.]
[Activate Ruler mode in area.]
Darren was shocked to see the message and quickly pulled up his map. Lo and behold there were truly 18 red dots slowly making their way in his direction from the Southeast corner of the map; the opposite direction from which Dan and Sharrol came. Deliberating on what to do, Darren reminded himself that he had the power to kick them out at any time and he was in no danger. He waited in silence for them to show up and after only a couple minutes the first person emerged from the forest followed by 17 more.
They were all haggard, dirty and some were even quite injured. Their leader seemed to be the first person that emerged from the forest. He was the only one in the group to hold a proper weapon and with a quick inspection, Darren found what he was looking for.
[Name: Ethan Holden]
[Cultivation: 1]
[Class: Spearman]
[Daos: Water]
[Bloodline: none]
'Another Class holder! I wonder what his system functions are?' Darren thought and then turned his attention back to Ethan himself, who seemed to be analyzing Darren as well and reading his status. Both looked at eachother and Ethan was the first to speak.
" Hello my name is Ethan as you probably already know and here behind me are my fellow villagers. We come from about 100 miles down the coast and previously we would primarily survive off fishing and farming, however when the system arrived it transformed the beasts around the area and even the fist. We were unable to catch any fish and the pesky evolved rodents in the forests kept eating our crops. Thus he decided to pack up and search for food elsewhere and here we are. " Darren listened silently and already anticipated the following request by the apparent chief.
"We would be very appreciative if you could provide the village with food. Of course, we would work for what we are given." Darren thought that he was very sincere and that it would definitely not hurt to have more followers, especially since the system did all the work for him in setting them up.
" I am willing to help out as I do have to food but I will need a bit more as well." Darren saw Ethan frown and continued before he jumped to conclusions. " The system wants for me to expand my farm and the way to do that is to get more workers and land so I would also ask that you accept system integration into the farm." Darren finished and Ethan visibly relaxed and almost immediately accepted. Ethan demanded that he see the farm to make sure he wasn't lying about having enough to feed the village. Once the tour was complete Ethan accepted and the system repeated the process it had taken with his family on the Maki Village, which Darren learned was the name of their village.
[Please Wait...]
Darren was ecstatic when there was a notification that it was finished and immidiately opened his Workers panel.
[Farm Workers: 21]
[Departments: Plant Research Department, Animal Research Department, Alchemy Department, Blacksmith Department, Fishing Department, Hunters Department, Engineering Department]
[Workers]
Darren read over the different Departments and felt that he was developing a mini civilization rather than a farm here. Darren expanded the Departments tab which granted him the number of workers in each department.
[Plant Research Department: 2]
[Animal Research Department: 3]
[Alchemy Department: 1]
[Blacksmithing Department: 1]
[Fishing Department: 5]
[Hunters Department: 8]
[Engineering Department: 1]
Reading over the data, Darren was starting to get an understanding as to how the system chose a sub-class. It seemed as though the Fishing and Hunting Department were the most popular and that made sense as most people in the village would regularly hunt and fish for survival. It also explained why Dan got the Hunter class as he would often chop down trees and do random "boy-things" in the woods with an axe for fun and even Sharrol had gotten into Archery when she was young but had an injury to had to quit. All of these were aspects of a person's life that truly made up there being and thus their sub-class matched it.
There were also other departments that were not too popular like the Animal and Plant Research Departments and there were even the others like Alchemy, Blacksmithing and, Engineering which only had one worker each. Darren thought he should first meet with everybody and share his findings. He found that if he was straight forward with them and what was going on with the system on his end, then everybody would trust him more and he would have an easier time doing experiments and gathering information.
