“Mr Demon”

Anna sighed in disbelief as she hung up the call. She couldn't believe that she had just agreed to be displayed like a whore to some guy who couldn't get his manhood to work. She tiptoed to her mother's room only to realize the woman was still fast asleep. What would her mother do if she knew that her only daughter was going off to work as a slut! Anna didn't bother to fight back the tears that furiously flowed down her cheeks, her mother was with the idea that she was studying law in a renowned university but as faith would have it she couldn't even secure admissions despite the great JAMB score she had had for three years since she finished secondary school. If only she had taken that job as a POS attendant maybe she wouldn't have been compelled to take on this shameful job. She got a text from Joey and quickly wiped the tears off her cheeks.

[BELOW IS THE TEXT CONVO BETWEEN THE DUO]

Mr Joey: the driver would need your address to come pick you up later this evening

Anna: HUH??if i am not mistaken sir which I'm obviously not I am supposed to be up for display tomorrow

Mr Joey:well the list was reshuffled and you have no choice but to attend or you'll be dismissed

Anna:okay sir tell the driver to come pick me up at baruwa bus stop

Joey: be sure to dress well Anna I know you'll do well

Anna : thank you sir

Anna drop the phone sulking at how she didn't have time to get ready, it was 5pm already the driver could arrive at anytime. Gulping down a glass of water,Anna rushed to the room and tried to walk stealthily not to awake her mom who was sleeping soundly. She made sure to open the closet as quietly as she could. The black furniture simply had nothing to offer her as she realized her closet was filled with sweatpants and Jean trousers nothing in that closet looked enticing. Out of frustration and anger, Anna kicked the poor piece of furniture and jolted the sleeping woman from her slumber.

Sarah shrieked as the loud noise interrupted her nap "no no no don't take my baby, my dear Nicholas don't touch him don't Anna protect your brother" Sarah shouted on top of her lungs as she clutched onto the pillow next to her. The yellow piece of clothing was wrapped like a baby. Anna regretted her impulsive action immediately and couldn't help but cry at the sight of the pitiful state her mother was in.

Amidst tears, Anna rushed to the refrigerator and poured a cup of milk for her mother as if it was an antidote or something. "Here mommy have some magic milk and Nicholas will be protected" and like anticipated Sarah gulped down the whole cup and belched to signify her satisfaction. After ensuring that her mother was asleep, Anna finally resumed her business.

Standing under the shower motionlessly, Anna recalled the recent year's event. Her dad died of a genetic heart disease arrhythmia,the fact that it was genetic made it more lethal and meant that there was a possibility that his off spring would also be diagnosed with it and unfortunately for Anna's little brother Nicholas, he inherited it. It was on the same day Nicholas was born, mr Wellington had just heard of the news of his wife's safe delivery and was on his way to the hospital, his body was found in his car and after medical examination he was said to have died of an heart failure. That was all Anna and her mother heard from either the family or the doctor.

As the male heir, Nicholas was to take over his father's bussiness and estate as soon as he could hold a pen as was written in mr Wellington's will but he also died two weeks prior his 10th birthday mysteriously. Her paternal family under the pretext of managing her father's bussiness and estate leaving her and her mother with a 3bedroom bungalow and several bank loans to pay. Her mother just couldn't take all the pressure and it affected her mental health therefore leaving Anna in a state of helplessness. Studying was no longer an option as she had to run from pillar to post and take on Menial jobs Untill she was able to pay the loan up to a certain amount and now she has been given a 7 day ultimatum to pay the sum of 790k naira she had 4k in her PalmPay account leaving her with 786 naira to pay.

Anna didn't bother wrapping a towel around her waist anymore and just went straight to the living room where she has kept her clothes on the couch. She decided not to put on panties at first but did the exact opposite she wasn't going to do anything she just wanted the trial money that was promised even if you failed she had no intention of seducing whoever it was that was inactive. She casually put on the pair of black baggy jeans that fitted her waist perfectly, a black lacy top and finally an oversized shirt with white and black stripes. Her hair was braided she only did the edges with a brush and wax. Looking at her light skinned face, she smiled and her pearly white teeth dazzled. She wanted to sit down and get some rest when her phone rang again, it was an unknown caller. Anna knew it must be the driver "hello I'll be at the bustop soon" she said not even giving a chance for a reply. Anna confirmed if her mom was still in bed before leaving the building and boarding a bike outside the estate.

Damon scanned the petite looking girls in front of him and couldn't help but feel repulsed and displeased. "Are these ones not to your liking" jare asked his displeased looking friend. Giving a signal for the girls to disperse, he took long strides towards Damon and poured him wine. The latter seemed pleased at the sight of alcohol as he sipped the wine. He cleared his throat as he scrutinized the girls once more before saying "you boasted of how exotic your women are, all I'm seeing is plain, bland , immature, old oh I'm seeing all sorts of boring categories" his thick British accent gave away his displeasure and feeling of superiority. Jare frowned as soon as he heard the remarks his friend made about the girls "now who's racist" he muttered agitatedly as he sipped the wine again. The proud narcissist soon realized that he had wounded his friend's ego with his words but made no attempt to apologize, he however made a mental note not to bring up such topic in the future. It was already 9pm and the last batch was yet to be displayed. Damon got up and slides his arms into the blue shirt he had thrown on the couch out of exitement. "What are you doing" the other man inquired angrily but Damon didn't even flinch "are you blind"that was his only response before he took his glass of wine and leave for the cellar. Jare facepalmed as he muttered "boozer"

Anna gasped as she saw how magnificent the building was, it wasn't just a building it was rather a mansion. The two hour drive was really worth it as she realized it was already 10pm. She saw other girls at the entrance 'shey na like this i go wait' she thought to herself. The driver drove her to the main door out of courtesy, just when Anna wanted her eyes to explore the whole place a girl shouted from behind "hey you, do you have an idea of how long we have been waiting" the girl's thick Igbo accent left no trace of politeness. Anna apologized immediately as she got off the car. Jare came to fetch the last of the girls "you all have to be hasty in all you do he is very short tempered" he said indifferently as he opened the door signaling for all the girls to go in. He almost lost his composure and burst into laughter when he saw funny looking Anna. Didn't they girl know what she was here for ? He opened his tab to check her data, she wasn't a moron after all she is an high school graduate.

Damon stared blankly at the girls as they either stared at the floor, chandelier or themselves. Anna on the other hand was admiring the beauty of the massive living room, every thing except the furniture and walls was golden color, the chandelier, railings, even the marble floor had a hint of Gold. "Well undress"she heard Damon say harshly to the girls,the excited ladies started stripping off every piece of clothing they had on Anna watched in bewilderment. Damon was once again disappointed at what he saw, they either had sagged breast or skin issues, he felt repulsed and looked away immediately and his eyes caught Anna's " well what are you doing" he asked somewhat amused. Anna frowned as she realized all attention was on her it was her first time conversing with an 'Oyinbo' but she didn't feel intimidated. " I simply refuse to seduce a man in the presence of my gender" the other girls couldn't help but laugh at the self righteous girl who thought she was better than any of them. Damon got up and walked to where the light switch was, he pressed the switch " now undress the lights are off" he said wondering what type of stunt she wanted to pull off. Anna remained adamant "it is utterly demeaning for you to think all this charade would break my resolve" Damon laughed heartily before glaring down at her "get out everyone" Anna smiled as she realized she was out of danger and made to leave "not you missy" she heard Damon say from behind. Cold sweat dripped from her forehead "yesssss sir" she said nervously. Damon's eye never left hers as he moved closer with Anna taking a step back "the floor is yours miss follow me" he said as he walked towards the door behind the dinning table, he reached for a key in his pocket and unlocked the door gesturing for Anna to go in. "Funnily enough only you made it this far by doing nothing" he said as he seemed to have laughed inwardly. Anna knew she was definatly in for some trouble today. She knelt down as soon as Damon turned to look at her "please sir I only Came for the free trial money that was promised Abeg I mean please let me go am sorry sir I know this is a fraud but you can let that go right" she said trying to force years out of her eyes but unfortunately not even a tear drop was in sight. Damon stretched forth his hand for Anna to get up "I'm Damon" he said as he smiled in a somewhat friendly manner. Anna interpreted the smile as a sign that he was going to turn her in "look mr demon I'll be sure to help you find the time of girls that you seek if you promise to let me go" Anna said and subconsciously mispronounced his name. "Leave your account details with my friend outside he'll settle the payments nice meeting you miss" he said as an indication that he didn't catch her name. Anna on the other hand didn't catch on as she hurriedly left the room "thank you sir" Damon heard her shout form outside. He smiled as he watched her run. "Funny folks" he said to himself before dialing jare's number "come in I'm done" he said.

Anna recalled the events that unfolded a few moments ago and couldn't help but smile she didn't even recall how the room looked she only remembered how mysterious his smile was.
