Chapter 7: This is the Top-Tier Graphics Skill Effect!

"Choose Crusader Strike."

Even though Alex was very tempted to choose [Frost Strike], after careful consideration, he opted for [Crusader Strike].

The reason was straightforward: he could imagine that the people in the main world had already discovered the corpses of the knights he had killed.

Although Alex wasn't sure how many clues they could gather from those bodies, it was certain that they would obtain some intelligence. If he learned [Frost Strike], it would easily attract the knights' attention.

After all, Death Knights and the Lich King were of the same lineage. Only a fool wouldn't see the connection after watching Alex fight a few times.

Rather than handing the paladins in the main world a clear lead, it was better to act contrarily. At least someone using holy power wouldn't be associated with an undead king like the Lich King.

"Ding!"

As soon as Alex finished speaking, he heard a soft chime by his ear, followed by a moment of dizziness. Then, he suddenly felt some unfamiliar information appearing in his mind. Shortly after, a line of system prompts appeared before his eyes.

[Crusader Strike Acquired]

[Skill Possessed: Crusader Strike]

[Proficiency: D (Beginner)]

[Upgradeable]

Upgrade?

Seeing this, Alex was taken aback. He opened the interface and saw a gray progress bar under the [Crusader Strike] skill, divided into five segments.

He reached out and tapped it, and another prompt quickly appeared before his eyes.

[Do you want to use dimensional points to enhance proficiency level?]

"No."

Looking at the system prompt before him, Alex decisively chose not to upgrade. As the designer of this system, Alex knew exactly what it entailed.

Dimensional points were extremely precious. According to his previous design, ten dimensional points could summon a soul stone.

The Map of Myriad Dimensions in his hand was essentially a mobile game system without microtransactions.

Common sense dictated that since he couldn't spend money, he should save the stones used for drawing cards and not waste them.

This is the self-discipline of a non-spending player.

After finishing all this, Alex closed the system and looked around once more. Although he seemed to have pondered for a long time, less than half a minute had passed.

The militia were now dealing with the surrounding undead and preparing for another battle. The previous victory had somewhat lifted their spirits, but every face still bore a shadow.

To Alex, this was normal. The undead were nearly everywhere outside, and compared to that, the manpower of Tristran was far from sufficient.

Relying on the town's defenses might allow them to survive for a while, but if the undead united, Tristran would undoubtedly fall.

What they were doing now was merely a futile struggle.

"Boom, boom, boom..."

At this moment, heavy footsteps suddenly echoed, causing the militia to stop their actions and look toward the source of the sound.

Soon, a figure appeared before them. She wore heavy white armor and held a long sword and shield. Seeing this iconic outfit, Alex didn't even need to guess her true identity.

Crusader! Nephalem makes a grand entrance!

Under Alex's gaze, the Crusader walked up to Captain Rutherford, set down her shield, and nodded at him.

"I am a Crusader of the Zakarum faith. I saw a falling meteor crash into this town."

"Crusader?"

Hearing this name, Captain Rutherford seemed relieved. He shrugged and said, "It crashed through the roof of the old cathedral. There was only one survivor at the time—Lia. You should talk to her..."

But before Captain Rutherford could finish, a militia member suddenly screamed.

"Captain, they're coming again!"

"What?"

Hearing the militia's words, Captain Rutherford was startled, and Alex quickly turned to look to the side. Under their gaze, the ground gradually began to bulge, and then one by one, gray-skinned undead started crawling out, staggering toward them.

"Damn it!"

Seeing this, Captain Rutherford frowned and then dashed forward.

"Let's take care of these undead first, then I'll open the door for you. Everyone, move out!"

Hearing Captain Rutherford's command, Alex gripped Soulrend tightly once more. But this time, his eyes lit up as he looked at the undead.

He had just learned Crusader Strike! Could these zombies really stand a chance against him now?

With that thought, Alex charged at one of the undead, raising Soulrend high and swinging it down forcefully.

Crusader Strike!

As the skill activated, Alex saw a brilliant golden glow appear on Soulrend's blade. The longsword cut into the undead, and as Soulrend struck, Alex felt a burst of holy power surge through him and into the sword, exploding instantaneously!

"Boom!!"

Alex felt as if he was wielding not a sword, but a giant hammer. The undead struck by Soulrend immediately burst apart, its once rigid body cracking.

Golden light shot out from the fissures, forming a holy cross mark on the undead's body. With a wail, the undead was flung back and exploded into fragments upon impact with the ground.

"..."

The entire process took less than five seconds, but Alex was left stunned.

Was this Crusader Strike?

With such dazzling effects and brilliant flashes, you're telling me this is a basic attack skill?

Is this the top-tier graphics skill effect? Or did Arthur train with the royal limited edition collector's version of Crusader Strike? Something was not right with this picture.

Alex's Crusader Strike took down one undead, but it also successfully drew the attention of the others. Soon, several undead abandoned their original targets and staggered toward him.

Alex had to admit, while these undead didn't seem very threatening individually, their numbers made them quite a nuisance.

But Alex was no longer the same as before. Having mastered [Crusader Strike], his mind was now filled with combat techniques and knowledge.

Instead of retreating, he seized an opening before the undead could surround him, raised Soulrend, and charged at another target!

The radiant holy light once again glowed on Soulrend. This time, Alex could even sense Soulrend's discontent and frustration through the hilt.

No wonder, it was a legendary Scourge artifact, now being used against undead creatures—and to make matters worse, with holy light?

At this moment, Soulrend seemed to be expressing a resigned helplessness, like a talented beauty forced into a life of crime.

But Alex had no time to console a sword. Fixing his gaze on the undead before him, he swung again, sending it flying. He then rolled to the ground, dodging attacks from two more undead, and swiftly swung his sword back, a golden arc of light cutting through the air and knocking them away.

Just as Alex caught his breath and was about to stand up and continue fighting, he suddenly heard a shout of "For Zakarum!"

The next moment, he saw the Crusader in white armor charge into the battlefield, shield raised!
