As soon as he said these words, Meng Zhong got particularly angry, feeling that the person in the cave had no respect to either him or his father and shouted in a loud voice.
"Who do you think you are to be saying such bold words? Do you even know how many Meridian Connecting Realm cultivators beg for a chance to work under my father? Furthermore, you're just a Loose Cultivator with no background to rely on! Just think what would happen to you-"
"Young master! Please calm down!"
Before he could continue speaking, the old man immediately stopped Meng Zhong, giving him a helpless look before whispering, "Young master, you shouldn't go around offending experts like this. No matter how low their cultivation level is compared to your father, it is still higher than your own. Offending seniors for no reason can result in severe aftermath."
Hearing his words, Meng Zhong was visibly irritated and just as he was about to say something, a voice came from the cave.
"I don't care who your father is or how high his position in the Immortal Sect is, it's basic knowledge in the cultivation world that you don't interfere with someone's secluded cultivation. Didn't your father teach you about that?"
This time, the voice was louder than before, as if the person speaking was annoyed as well.
"You...! You dare speak to me like this!?"
Meng Zhong shouted loudly, his voice echoing throughout the forest.
He looked at the old man besides him and spoke angrily, "Hey, are you just going to stand there and watch this fellow insult both me and my father? This is a direct insult to the prestige of the Immortal Sect! If you can't even protect the name of the Immortal Sect, then you have no right to be one of us!"
As soon as he said these words, the old man shot him a cold glance which sent shivers down Meng Zhong's spine.
The old man then turned around to look towards the entrance of the cave and spoke in an icy, piercing voice, "Fellow daoist, why did you make this so difficult? We were just asking about your identity to ensure that you were not an enemy."
His tone of voice was slightly more arrogant than before as he said this.
"Is it just me who's staying here temporarily? Isn't the Red Dragon Mountain Range and the Red Dragon City a place for Loose Cultivators as well? And you could have waited till I ended my cultivation session before disturbing me, couldn't you? Not to mention that I'm not even staying in the Red Dragon Mountain but just in the outskirts of the Red Dragon Mountain Range, which means I don't even have to pay anything to stay here for a night."
By this point, Lin Xuanhao's voice had taken a domineering stance, indicating that he won't back off easily.
Meng Zhong's eyes reddened with anger, but he didn't do or say anything as the old man was also looking towards the cave angrily.
"Very well then! If you won't come out, then don't mind me coming in myself!"
As the old man said that, he immediately rushed towards the cave at full speed, mobilizing the Spirit Qi in his hand as he shot out with a palm strike that lit up the surroundings due to the Spirit Qi particles shining in the darkness of the night.
*Boom!*
*Rumble!*
The cave began to collapse due to the great force of the palm strike imbued with Spirit Qi as the old man slowly stepped back towards Meng Zhong, watching the gravel and rock fall down around them, sealing the entrance of the cave along with crushing everything inside of it.
"That should settle it."
The old man muttered under his breath, standing up straight as he darted his eyes around to see if he had alerted any powerful Demon Beast nearby.
With my cultivation at the Sixth Stage of Meridian Connecting Realm, there's no way that fellow survived. Even a cultivator at the later stages of Meridian Connecting Realm will struggle to hold onto their life if an entire cave like this collapsed on top of them.
He thought silently as he prepared to leave with Meng Zhong.
He was a decisive person, having lived in the cultivation world for years with decades of experience. He knew that potential enemies he left alive may cause trouble for him in the future.
It was even more dangerous to do so if the enemy's background was unknown. It was better to eliminate all traces of them after killing them.
The cave collapsing could be considered a natural disaster and won't be traced back to him, which was why he did that.
There was no way a mortal could possess divine capabilites that could trace down karma, right?
At least he had never heard of it.
"Young master, let's not delay here anymore lest we get into more trouble. Let's g-"
*Bang!*
At this moment, a loud bang sounded from the rubble, causing both the old man and Meng Zhong to hastily turn around.
*Bang!*
The next moment, with another loud bang from the pile of rubble, a strong light emerged forth, revealing a glowing figure standing above the collapsed cave.
He had long, flowing silver hair and a handsome face capable of charming the heavens themselves and grey eyes that seemed to hold the cosmos within them, wearing a simple white daoist robe, he looked like a deity straight out of a painting.
However, at this moment, his face was as cold as ice and eyes like the endless abyss that glared at the old man and Meng Zhong.
Meng Zhong was slightly scared, taking a few steps back.
Despite being ignorant, he still knew that he couldn't do anything to a Meridian Connecting Realm cultivator, so he chose to hide behind the old man.
The old man, on the other hand, was also somewhat taken aback by Lin Xuanhao's appearance before he took out a three foot long sword, which shimmered with a cold light as he infused it with Spirit Qi.
He knew there was no going back now, so he decided to fight till the end without speaking any words. He believed the other party also knew of this.
Even though it was his fault at first, this enmity couldn't be erased now. It was true that he tried to kill the other party, so he had to pay the price as well.
Lin Xuanhao looked at the sword held by the old man and raised an eyebrow out of interest. He was surely going to kill the two people before him as they had caused him trouble first, but there was no need for him to be so tensed.
What intrigued him was the fact that the old man's sword seemed to be a Spirit Artifact, albeit of the lowest grade and rank.
It wasn't rare to see Meridian Connecting Realm cultivators walking around with Low Rank Mortal Grade Spirit Artifacts back in his time, but it was indeed rare for someone of a servant status to possess one, unless their backing was far stronger.
Of course, it didn't mean he had an interest in the Spirit Artifact itself. He had way better Artifacts even though he couldn't use them as of now.
What mattered to him was the fact that the Immortal Sect was capable of giving this fellow a Spirit Artifact. This confirmed a few of his guesses about the Immortal Sect.
Looking over at the two people in front of him, Lin Xuanhao slowly stepped forward while the old man took on a offensive stance with the sword before lunging forward to attack, after images forming behind him as he channeled his Spirit Qi into the sword in his hands and his legs.
*Clang!*
However, what should have been the sound of Lin Xuanhao's chest being pierced by the sword seemed as if he had hit a hard boulder, causing a clinking sound to echo in the forest.
The next second, the old man felt someone stand behind him and hastily swung the sword around, but he was too late by that time.
Lin Xuanhao's fingers shaped like a sword tapped on the old man's back, and in an instant, his superior and vast Spirit Qi rushed out of them, piercing a 2 inch wide hole into the back of the old man's body.
By the time he noticed it, blood was already flowing out of his injuries like a broken dam, causing his eyes to twitch before he coughed out a mouthful of blood and stumbled, placing a hand on a nearby rock to stabilize himself.
He's...too strong..
This injury was simply too grave.
Not even a Qi Refining Realm cultivator could heal from this easily based on their own efforts, leg alone a mere Meridian Connecting Realm cultivator.
Even if they could hold on longer than mortals with no cultivation, it wasn't enough.
After a few seconds, the old man's sword dropped from his hand and he fell to the ground with a thud. He had fallen unconscious, but probably won't survive for long.
Lin Xuanhao turned his attention to Meng Zhong, who was cowering in a corner, not even daring to move, let alone run.
I-it's all over...I'm finished...
As he thought of this, he stuttered as he spoke, "A-at least tell me your identity before killing m-"
Before he could even finish his sentence, a wave of Spirit Qi slashed through his head, silencing him forever.
"I'm the Immortal Emperor of Absolute Inevitability. Make sure to remember it in your next life."
