The solid gold coffin, specially ordered by Blake from Opulent Ornaments, had already been delivered.
It was in a small box truck in the hotel parking lot.
Blake had prepared thoroughly for today. With a slight wave of Blake's hand towards the box truck, two men in black suits came out, each pulling a heavy-duty dolly.
Two more men came out from the truck, and together they pushed the shiny golden coffin onto the dollies.
With a loud clang, the coffin settled firmly between the two dollies.
"Sir Lu, is this coffin really made of pure gold?" whispered the man pushing the cart at the front.
"It should be. Who cares? The boss said this guy is a big spender. We just need to cause some trouble and each get a big red envelope. It's much safer than getting into street fights. Stop talking and push!" replied the man behind.
One pushed, the other pulled, and they maneuvered the hundreds of pounds of gold coffin onto the red carpet.
The dazzling golden coffin even had a Opulent Ornaments pure gold label on it.
Everyone present was utterly speechless.
A solid gold coffin weighing at least three or four hundred pounds.
Three or four hundred pounds of gold—at its lowest price, that's worth millions.
Even if they had a grudge, all the previous antics were already disgusting enough. Why spend so much money to send a gold coffin?
Many people had the same thought: if someone disrupted their wedding but gave them a solid gold coffin, they would accept it despite the bad omen.
But Gu didn't think that way. Many business associates and partners he had met in Shanghai over the past year were present.
Not to mention the impact of this wedding, if he accepted this coffin, how could he continue in this circle?
Countless thoughts raced through Gu's mind. It wasn't that he was afraid of what Blake might do to him.
He didn't believe Blake would dare beat him or kill him in front of so many people.
The scary part was, where did Blake get so much money and people from?
If Blake made a comeback, it wouldn't bode well for him.
"Blake, what do you want?" Gu asked through gritted teeth.
"What do I want? I came to attend your wedding and brought such an expensive gift, and you ask what I want?"
"You two despicable people stole my company, my wealth. Do you have any idea what my life has been like this past year? Did you know I tried to commit suicide by drinking pesticide? Now I've come back from hell, what do you think I want?"
"Smack!" Blake got more agitated as he spoke and slapped Gu hard.
Despite trying to control his strength, the slap sent Gu flying seven or eight meters.
Most of his teeth were knocked out, and half of his face swelled like a pig's head. He tilted his head and fainted.
"Ah!" Qu screamed in terror as she saw Gu being slapped away by Blake.
"Hmm?" Blake turned his gaze to his ex-girlfriend.
"Blake... Blake! I...!" Qu trembled, unable to speak as Blake looked at her.
Having lived with Blake for years, she found him utterly unrecognizable now.
"What? You sent me an invitation to your wedding to mock me, right? I'm here now, so why can't you speak?"
When Blake pulled out the invitation, Gu had shot a furious look at Qu. He knew it was her idea to send it.
"I... I'm sorry!" Qu stammered.
Blake had been through many things, including killing people, while he was in Marvel. His presence was not something ordinary people could withstand.
Just stepping forward, he made Qu tremble and unable to speak.
"Sorry!" Blake muttered, then raised his hand and slapped Qu, sending her flying as well.
"Mr. Blake, don't make this a bigger scene. Someone inside called the police, and they should be here soon. You should leave. We'll handle the rest!"
The security chief from the bathhouse, still in a black suit, ran up to Blake respectfully.
"Alright! Thanks, brother. Just help me deliver the final gift!"
"Don't worry, Mr. Blake!" After all the commotion, Blake patted himself off and left in a Rolls-Royce.
The Ferrari convoy was rented by him, so there were people to drive the cars back.
Just as Blake had left, a massive LED screen outside the hotel suddenly started playing a video.
It showed Qu in bed with another man in a hotel room.
The scene then switched to Gu with another woman.
Finally, it showed Gu and Qu having a heated argument in a room.
They started by accusing each other of blatant infidelity. After a few exchanges, the argument shifted to how they had deceived Blake into signing the shareholder agreement.
Qu pointed at Gu, claiming that he wouldn't have gotten where he was without her help. Gu retorted, calling her a greedy slut who colluded with him to swindle Blake.
In short, they shifted the blame back and forth, but ended up fully revealing how they had tricked Blake.
The three short videos caused an uproar among the crowd.
Soon, the police arrived and finally ended the farce.
Blake's hired men in black hadn't actually harmed anyone, aside from some justified shoving.
The shiny knives they had displayed were just magic props bought from a novelty market.
These street-smart thugs knew exactly how to navigate the law and societal norms, typically just doing a quick round at the police station before being released.
There were two genuinely serious issues.
One was the two slaps Blake had delivered, which were considered serious assaults.
The other was the final video of Gu and Qu's conversation.
But both issues could be navigated, as long as the victims didn't press charges, avoiding any criminal liability.
Gu woke up in the hospital in the afternoon.
Blake's slap had not only knocked out most of his teeth but also caused a minor concussion.
"The hospital said you're fine, just need a few days of rest. Aunt and Uncle went to see off the relatives. What exactly happened, Gu? Did you and Qu really conspire to deceive her ex-boyfriend out of his company?" his cousin asked, pouring him a glass of water.
"Cousin, I... ouch!" Gu felt a sharp pain in his cheek as soon as he tried to speak.
"Cousin, who told you that…"
Seeing his expression, his cousin could tell it was mostly true and coldly tossed him a phone.
On it were the three videos from that morning.
Apart from the first few seconds, everything was crystal clear.
"This can't be… How could someone secretly record this? Blake!!!"
Gu knew exactly what this meant for him. Even if he didn't go to jail, everything he currently had would likely be lost.
"By the way, cousin, what about the solid gold coffin from the wedding? Is it still around?" Gu suddenly remembered the coffin, knowing it was made of pure gold.
Even if he lost everything, that coffin would allow him to live well back home.
"After you passed out, Blake slapped Qu and left. Before the police arrived, those men in black took the coffin. They left, cursing you for not recognizing its value and rejecting such a precious gift!"
"I…"
Overwhelmed with anger, Gu spat out a mouthful of blood, along with a shiny molar.
