With the casual mention from the Ancient One, Blake now felt more confident standing beside Thor. At the very least, the system's tasks had become more legitimate.
Even if Odin were to stand in front of him now, Blake could confidently say, "The Sorcerer Supreme, the Ancient One, asked me to look after Thor on your behalf." It was far more credible than previously posing as a half-baked fortune teller to deceive people.
So this time, Blake openly announced to Jane and her group, "Thor has caused you all quite a bit of trouble recently. As a token of thanks, I'd like to invite you all to Monaco to watch the F1 Grand Prix!"
He spoke with the air of someone who had taken on the role of Thor's guardian on Earth.
Blake hadn't gone into great detail about the Ancient One with Thor, only mentioning that she was an old friend of Odin on Earth. So, when faced with Blake's sudden enthusiasm, Thor could only explain it to Jane this way.
"A good friend of the All-Father? An ancient deity from Earth? God? Zeus? Or some other deity?" Jane immediately adopted the curious demeanor of a scientist, intrigued by the idea. Thor's appearance had completely validated her past research, and recently, she had become fascinated with ancient myths and legends.
"Just a human who knows some magic," Blake shrugged nonchalantly. "The so-called gods are just a more advanced intelligent civilization. Apart from their powers, Asgardian gods aren't much different from Earthlings. In fact, their society is even less open than ours!"
He then turned to Thor. "Thor, this is also what Odin wants you to understand!"
Jane smiled but didn't say much. As long as she could be with Thor, she had no objections. On the other hand, Darcy (Erik Selvig's other student) suddenly displayed overwhelming enthusiasm.
"The F1 World Championship? I've always wanted to see it live! Handsome, are you covering the airfare too?"
When Blake smiled and nodded, Darcy jumped up and started cheering.
"You all go ahead. I have some things to take care of," Dr. Erik Selvig suddenly said.
"Erik, come with us. You've taken care of us so well lately—I'd like to do something for you," Thor earnestly persuaded.
"I've just received a new job. Like Mr. Blake here, I've become a consultant for the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division. They have a research project that needs my involvement, and I'm very interested!"
In the movie, Coulson confiscated the research of Dr. Erik Selvig, Jane, and the others, which eventually led Nick Fury to recruit Dr. Selvig for the Tesseract development project.
It seems that with Thor's appearance, combined with Blake's mention of an ancient organization, S.H.I.E.L.D. felt a sense of urgency. Nick Fury had started recruiting talent early to develop weapons using the Tesseract.
"Congratulations!" Jane and Darcy both stepped forward to hug Dr. Erik Selvig. The old man, a genius in his field, had spent the first half of his life researching things that seemed intangible, with no one acknowledging his work. Now that someone finally recognized his talent, they were genuinely happy for him.
Whether it was because the money had come too easily or because Blake had decided to live a little after being swindled by Tony, Blake, who usually tended to be a bit stingy, went ahead and chartered a private jet this time.
"Oh my God, I thought I'd have to sit in my seat for over ten hours. I even brought a neck pillow so I could rest comfortably on the plane. But... I mean, this is just too cool!!!"
Blake had chartered a large plane equipped with three small bedrooms, a living room with a mini-bar, and even a small karaoke room.
As soon as they boarded the plane, Darcy threw away the neck pillow she had attached to her backpack.
Jane was noticeably more composed, but she was still excited as she pulled Thor along to explore the plane.
"I'm going to take a selfie in every corner of this plane! It'll give me something to brag about on social media for the next six months!"
Darcy snapped a quick selfie and then sat directly across from Blake, her face full of curiosity.
"Honestly, your wealth is beyond what I imagined. Is it really like the newspapers say, that you and Tony Stark are...?"
Darcy held up her two index fingers and bent them suggestively.
"I mean, that would be such a shame... I mean, it's a shame for both of you!"
She sneaked a glance at Blake after finishing her sentence.
"But you're the one who's missing out more; he's a bit older."
"First of all, I'm not gay," Blake said as he reached over to straighten Darcy's fingers.
"And secondly, even if I were, I wouldn't go for a jerk like Tony Stark."
"Do you have a girlfriend, then?" Darcy asked directly when she heard that Blake's sexual orientation was straight.
Her question was blunt, and Blake felt a bit awkward. Technically, he and Natasha hadn't officially defined their relationship, but to say he didn't have a girlfriend didn't quite fit either, as they weren't just ordinary friends.
Sticking to the principle of honesty, Blake decided to say something that was shamelessly true.
"A girlfriend? Not tonight!"
"Hehe!" Darcy chuckled. "That's exactly what I was asking about—tonight!"
Alright then! Blake thought to himself that maybe he should have chartered a smaller plane—two bedrooms would have sufficed, right?
Darcy had just graduated and had a straightforward, fun-loving personality. She wasn't really looking to settle down. Blake, being young, wealthy, and quite handsome with the added appeal of being a superhero, was a perfect candidate for a casual fling in Darcy's eyes.
It just so happened that this aligned perfectly with Blake's interests.
Little did he expect that his first intimate encounter in the Marvel universe would take place on a plane. Does this count as the infamous "mile-high club"?
The plane had a private chef on board, so the four of them enjoyed a delightful meal together. After some wild fun in the karaoke room, Blake and Thor each took one of the girls into a bedroom.
For the next ten hours or so, they didn't come out again...
(Use your imagination for the details, thank you!)

The Principality of Monaco, the smallest country in the world after Vatican City, is surrounded on three sides by France, with its only border along the Mediterranean Sea.
It has a total area of just 1.98 square kilometers and a population of less than 40,000. The country's wealth is derived mainly from its gambling and tourism industries, making it one of the richest countries in the world, though this wealth doesn't refer to its GDP.
Monaco is most famous not only for its casinos and the various scandals surrounding its royal family but also for its F1 Grand Prix circuit, which runs through the city streets. (This description is accurate to real life, and if you're interested in the royal family's scandals, a quick Google search might prove interesting!)
Every year, Monaco hosts a world-class F1 Grand Prix, drawing in racing teams, drivers, and the wealthy patrons who fund them, adding a significant boost to the local tourism industry.
This tiny country doesn't have its own airport (there simply isn't enough space!), so most travelers to Monaco opt to land at the airport in Nice, the closest city in France.
Blake was no exception, but as soon as he got off the plane, he unexpectedly ran into someone he knew.
