the mc is a retard he knows the future but is scared of changing it. the author is scared of it too I don't think he thinks he's a good enough writer to diverge from canon so we're just getting the show transcript. the mc is never serious always acting like a retard and everyone in the story is already done with him. he talks about loving brakebills but he's barely been there and he did nothing to stop himself from getting expelled and now he's crying about it

I think the guy abdi13 review said everything that needed saying. It’s just the magicians canon with kai parker mixed in. Even if i can accept following the plot, the problem still lies in mc. He is neither serious about magic nor makes any meaningful contribution to plot. Garbage joker mc.
