Sitting in front of the makeup room mirror backstage, Yao Qing raised her eyes to look at herself in the mirror.
The makeup artist had placed a brocade-gold veil on her.
"Don't be nervous, Miss Yao, you are beautiful, remember to relax," the makeup artist reassured.
Yao Qing uttered a word of thanks.
She had chosen the Dunhuang Dance, so she wore a half-collar short armor that reached up to her navel. Her upper arms were bound in fabric wraps, while the lower arms featured flowing long sleeves. Below, she donned a satin long skirt with interwoven dark gold and dark jade colors that reached to her ankles—colors unique to Dunhuang.
The overall appearance was a mixture of Dunhuang's bright and dark gold, with black hair proudly adorned with gems, and distinctive makeup at the corners of the eyes and lips.
