Li Mohan's eyebrows lifted slightly, "What was he doing in Beisen?"

"He said he was reporting to Beisen today to attend school there," Ye Jiuliang spoke casually.

To be attending school in Beisen at the age of sixteen, it looked like he was a young academic prodigy who had skipped grades to get there.

Li Mohan's eyes deepened, "Did he strike up a conversation with you again?"

Ye Jiuliang hummed in confirmation.

"Mohan's here."

Li Mohan nodded and called out familiarly, "Uncle."

Ye Jiuliang had grown used to it, accustomed to the thick skin of their guest.

"You can start eating; go wash your hands," Mingchong invited.

Li Mohan stood up and brought slippers over for Ye Jiuliang to put on.

"Stop going about barefoot, if you catch a cold, see who'll care for you," he nagged.
