Chapter 25: Underestimating the Merchant

Seeing the girl staring at his hand in a daze, Chen Jingyuan asked in a low voice, "Can't drink cold water?"

Liang Weining snapped out of it, quickly catching the water bottle with her hand, her voice slightly hoarse, "I can, thank you, Mr. Chen."

The water soothed her throat, and the itching and pain were alleviated.

With Chen Jingyuan's insight, he easily saw that she was feeling unwell, and with a slight lift of his chin, he gestured, "Wait in the car."

"It's nothing serious," Liang Weining claimed lightly as she screwed the cap back on, "Let it ferment a bit more, the medicine will work better then."

The people she dealt with daily were of all types, but this was the first time she heard such confidently flawed logic.

Chen Jingyuan's gaze swept over the girl's still-blushing face, his tone even, "If it ferments to the point that you can't speak, does Secretary Liang plan on communicating work with me through sign language?"

Impossible.
