Chapter 11 Going to Register Our Marriage

Bo Jingcheng snapped his fingers, and there was movement outside the door.

Two young women walked in, speaking very respectfully, "Young Madam, we're here to help you change your clothes."

"..." Ji Shunuan was taken aback.

As Bo Jingcheng turned and strode away, closing the door behind him, the two women had already helped her out of her clothes.

An appropriate white dress was put on, her delicate face was adorned with light makeup after they had penciled her eyebrows, and then they handed her a toothbrush to finish washing up.

After everything was done, they stepped out, and Bo Jingcheng pushed the door open and walked in.

The man said nothing, reached out and scooped her up in his arms, her skirt fluttering into a beautiful curve midair as she was startled and quickly clutched onto his arm.

"Let's go, to get the certificate," Bo Jingcheng said in a hoarse voice.

Ji Shunuan was at a loss until his words finally made her completely awake.

Could it be that he heard her talk about marriage last night, remained silent, and walked away to think it over? A strange glint flashed in Ji Shunuan's eyes.

"What? Having second thoughts? I'm afraid it's too late," Bo Jingcheng's somber voice came with an oppressive force.

Ji Shunuan was carried outside by him, and she suddenly panicked.

"My household register book is at Ji Mansion, I need to go back and get it," Ji Shunuan said softly.

And whether she could get her household register book was not certain! With Ji Jianchong's character, he would absolutely not hand it over to her. He was guarding against her withdrawing from the Ji Family after getting married.

Her assets would move with her; where she was, the funds would be.

Once she married, the money would become her marital property, untouchable by anyone else.

"I've got it," Bo Jingcheng said sternly.

He carried Ji Shunuan downstairs, and a motorhome slowly approached. Cheng Qing adjusted his glasses and hurried forward to open the car door, Bo Jingcheng carrying her inside the vehicle.

"How did you do it? Ji Jianchong would never hand over the household register to you. Did you make a deal with him?" Ji Shunuan saw the household register he had passed to her.

Shock was written all over her face.

Incredulity filled her eyes.

Clutching the household register book tightly in her hands, she seemed scared it would fly away if she wasn't careful.

This was the register book she had do so much to obtain, and now Bo Jingcheng had simply presented it to her with ease.

"The Ji Family has been heartless and ungrateful towards you, if I made a deal with them, wouldn't that be letting them off easy? Especially after Ji Jianchong's disrespectful actions towards you in the hospital last night."

"Naturally, Bo has to send him a 'generous gift'," Bo Jingcheng chuckled hoarsely.

No sooner had he spoken than Ji Shunuan quickly pulled out her phone, only to be bombarded with a slew of news alerts that just wouldn't stop popping up.

Ji Shunuan stared at the news blitz and saw, "Ji Family CEO was bitten by a dog last night, reportedly chased by the dog for nine streets, and finally chased back to Ji Mansion, where he was knocked unconscious by the dog in his bedroom."

"..." Ji Shunuan looked at the bizarre news with a complex gaze.

Her lips moved, but she couldn't utter a word.

Chased by a dog for nine streets, chased home and knocked unconscious.

The image flashed through her mind, and she couldn't help but twitch at the corners of her mouth, the discontent that had been suppressed in her heart seemed to have evaporated.

Ji Shunuan looked out the car window at the sunny scenery with a lightened mood, only to see several familiar figures bowing their heads, rushing towards the hospital.

"Isn't that... Gu Zhiyuan's people?" Ji Shunuan's eyes filled with confusion.

Those were the thugs Gu Zhiyuan kept! It's common for young masters of wealthy families to keep thugs privately.

This was something she had inadvertently discovered during one of her visits to the Gu Mansion!

These people secretly worked for Gu Zhiyuan yet never showed their faces in public, so why were they now appearing in the hospital?

An unusual feeling washed over her, and before she could think further, the RV slowly drove away, those figures flashing by and disappearing from her view.

Upon leaving the Civil Affairs Bureau, Ji Shunuan was dazzled by the sunlight to the point of feeling bewildered.

Looking at the marriage certificate in her hand, an intense surreal feeling overwhelmed her.

It felt like a dream, as if she were dreaming.

"Pop pop pop," a few sounds of firecrackers were deafening, engulfing the air with their scent, so thick it was tinged with a human touch.

Ji Shunuan was snapped back to reality as she saw the old lady igniting firecrackers and tossing them ahead.

"Married, my grandson finally has a wife," the old lady, excited, lit the firecrackers and, in an instant, the entire street was permeated with their scent.

The sound of firecrackers attracted the attention of passersby, many of whom immediately ran over to watch.

The old lady carried a bag of firecrackers in her left hand and a bag of wedding candies in her right.

"Come on, everyone gets a share!" the old lady exclaimed as she lit a firecracker and threw it into the distance, tears of excitement in her eyes, as she approached people with the wedding candies.

The crowd, not expecting to receive wedding candies, saw many children also running over.

Not far away, sanitation workers rushed over at the sound of firecrackers, picking up their brooms hastily and heading towards the commotion, only to find the ground littered with remnants of firecrackers, their faces immediately darkening.

Before they could speak, the old lady hurried over with the wedding candies.

"Sorry, sorry! I've made a mess. Today is my grandson's great day, we set off some firecrackers!" said the old lady as she stuffed the wedding candies into the sanitation workers' hands.

She also took out a stack of red envelopes and passed them on, and the three sanitation workers were stunned as they saw the envelopes.

Thick! Upon opening them, they found each one full of red hundred-yuan bills, clearly amounting to tens of thousands. Overwhelmed with surprise and joy, they hurriedly said, "Congratulations, congratulations."

Outside the Civil Affairs Bureau, the place was bustling.

Ji Shunuan, watching the old lady setting off firecrackers, distributing wedding candies, and giving red envelopes to the sanitation workers, felt so warmed she was lost for words.

"Nuannuan, let's go, let's go home!" the old lady said after doing it all.

She strode over, old in age but vigorous in health, and spirited in personality! The joy on her face was almost impossible to conceal.

She wore a simple, loose apricot-colored outfit, effortless yet elegant, and her hair was simply put up, exuding the aura of a young lady from the Republic era.

"Okay," Ji Shunuan replied softly.

She was held by Bo Jingcheng and turned to sit inside the RV.

As soon as she sat down, the old lady climbed into the vehicle and with a "clang," brought a suitcase over and opened it to reveal a collection of gold and silver jewelry.

"This is a jade bracelet passed down from the Bo Family."

"This is the bridal necklace my mother gave me."

"This is the engagement token given to me by that deceased grandfather of Bo Jingcheng."

"And this! It's the apartment that your grandmother bought with the first pot of gold I earned."

"Look at this, Nuannuan, look at this one! It's the gold lock that my father personally made for me when I was 18," the old lady said, flipping through the items and pushing them towards Ji Shunuan.

Ji Shunuan looked down as the old lady slipped the bracelet onto her wrist.

She wanted to pull her hand back, but the cold sensation came over her, and the bracelet was already on her wrist.

The old lady held her wrist, her eyes instantly reddening as she said, "Nuannuan, you look so beautiful wearing this, just as beautiful as when your grandmother wore it."
