Chapter 60 He Did It on Purpose

Early in the morning, Jiang Ni slipped out of the airport and hurried towards the Second Ring.

Years ago when the elder Mr. Ni lived in Beijing, for the sake of convenience, he bought a courtyard house on East Fourth Street. The property covered over eight hundred square meters and was occupied only by the old man and a few servants.

This was Jiang Ni's first visit.

"Miss Jiang, long time no see," greeted the family doctor, who had been by the old man's side for years, a young man.

"How is grandfather's health?" she asked, concerned about his wellbeing after the long flight.

"Everything is fine, rest assured," he replied.

He made a gesture inviting her to follow him, "This way. The old gentleman is having breakfast."

Pushing open the door, Jiang Ni lowered her head to step over the threshold and quietly exhaled, bracing herself.

"You're here," he noted.
