Chapter 34 Like

Mama Wu saw Su Wan off as she left, staring at the taxi's receding figure, standing quietly in front of the gate for a while.

It wasn't until the car was out of sight that she turned around and went back into the villa.

Not long after Su Wan had left, Gu Nanzhou woke up.

When he awoke, there was no one beside him, and even the pillow was neatly arranged.

If it weren't for the lingering sweet scent of the young girl still filling the air and the armchair by the bed, Gu Nanzhou would really have thought that yesterday was just an illusion.

His expression grew cold as he got out of bed.

A cup of hot water was left on the desk, though it had by now become lukewarm.

Gu Nanzhou paused briefly, his fingertips gently caressing the rim of the cup.

With the curtains drawn, the bedroom was dim, illuminated only by a few faint rays of light that quietly infiltrated the space.

The water was cool, yet Gu Nanzhou felt as if his heart was scorched by a sudden intense heat.
