"Time and fate are not to be forced!"
Old Master Pu let out a bitter laugh, motioning for the last nephew to come forward. As the jade pendant was grasped, just like the previous three, the sight caused the study to fall into a long silence. Everyone bowed their heads in speechlessness. After a while, Old Master Pu chuckled bitterly,
"Such is the fate of the Pu family..."
Before he could finish his sentence, someone outside chimed in,
"Master, you have forgotten someone!"
Turning towards the doorway upon hearing this, they saw Madam Pu, with her eyes red and swollen like peaches, accompanied by her daughter. Madam Pu was pale and frail as if a gust of wind could knock her over, yet her gaze was firm. Ignoring her husband's stern look,
"Master, you've forgotten, you have a daughter too!"
She refused to believe in fate — if her sons could, surely her daughter could as well. She would not let the opportunity slip away to the second and third branches of the family!
